The movie is about love, struggles, addiction, drugs, and PTSD. What desperation drives people to do the extreme things. How a promising young man came down to be a criminal. One step at a time, he lost his way. While being desperate and lost the purpose of life, he has his one true love stand by his side at all time even though they both got into this unhealthy road. The first half of the movie laid out the background with lightened mood while second half is truly epic where it shows how easliy humanity is broken down when facing struggles.

I have been paying attention to this film a long time ago (starting from the first stills of my Dutch brother). Although the audience's reputation is a bit unsatisfactory according to the current situation, I still like it. With the confession of the Dutch brother, the tragic life of the boy who was ruined by the war is strung together. The first half is a bit boring, the first part of the relationship with his girlfriend is a bit inexplicable, and the war scenes are also average, but the scale is indeed there. In the second half of the stage, he was getting better. The subversive performance of the Dutch brother was too explosive. The crying scene, the drug scene, and the bank robbery scene can all show excellent acting skills, and slowly the boys are destroyed by the war and the girls are loved. And the tragedy of ruin has empathy, although Xie Li should have missed the awards season, but the flaws are not hidden, I like it!

I learned from other directors to do segmentation, but not much content was packed into it. The actors were chosen too childishly, their acting skills were not bad, but they just couldn't exert themselves. The whole process was like playing at home.
