Hand-made monster

What is this movie about? It's really hard to answer. I think it is like a dance by the dying old man, James Whale, a period of life blooming peacefully; it is also like seeing the decline and vicissitudes of life. James Whale was immersed in reminiscence and thinking from the beginning to the end. He thought of his young lover, his movies, and there must be many thoughts that have not been filmed. When a person is old, most of his thinking is stale. In my opinion, this is the only thing a deceased can take away, and it is also the true wealth of a person's life. He finally chose to commit suicide to end his life. The beauty of the film is in the suicide swimming pool. James' body swings with the waves, like dancing. The sound of the violin is too bleak. Seeing this, I also shed tears.
In the eyes of many people, GAY is nothing more than Frankenstein (Frankenstein, monster) in the James movie. Lu Xun said that idols were fabricated by himself. Isn't the monster Frankenstein here also made up by James himself? The irony is that he who made the monster is a very delicate and dedicated person in his heart. He has love and cherishes love.
It's been a long time since I shed tears from watching a movie, so I can remember the nonsense.

Gods and Monsters quotes

  • Clayton Boone: The monster's lonely. He wants a friend. A girlfriend. Somebody. What's so sick about that?

  • [Hannah is disturbed by the image of Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster]

Hannah: Oh, that monster. How could you be working with him?

James Whale: Don't be daft. He's a very proper actor... and the dullest fellow imaginable.
