Be compassionate because you understand

DreamWorks launched "Flying to the Moon" in 2020, an animated film with Chinese tradition and modern life as the background, but unfortunately its release did not bring much spark.

I opened it boringly today, but miraculously experienced the change from dissatisfaction with the story to deeply moved.

If you want to say it, maybe it is because you understand the suffering of loss, so you have infinite sympathy for the characters in the movie.

In terms of the performance of the plot, the novelty of the setting, and the fun of the story, the most common evaluation of this animation is "no novelty". I feel the same about this, even when the protagonist Feifei used online shopping and magnetic levitation technology to create a flying machine in my mind, "pull" in capitals. In addition, as the goddess of the moon, Chang'e is very blunt when she instigates others in order to satisfy her wish to meet Houyi. Obviously perceive the position of the "credential", why not go by yourself? Although the protagonist will inevitably experience trials and Chang'e will inevitably have a topic, the performance of the bridge segment is still very interesting.

But, since when did I sink into the plot? It seems that it started when Feifei met the jelly dog. Jelly Dog, like Feifei's little brother, A Qing, is a little pistachio with a lack of heart. When Feifei struggled to retrieve the token, the jelly dog cheered beside her to a broken voice.

It is a little sun who truly connects the happiness of others with his own happiness.

Then I couldn't stop at that moment.

I think, who wouldn't want to have such a friend? Feifei is so lucky.

Then the plot progressed, Chang'e got what she wanted, the magic turned on, and flowers and plants grew around Guanghan Palace and turned into a jungle. She saw Houyi, but learned that Houyi could not be reunited with her after all. Chang'e fell into deep grief, and Guanghan Palace entered the infinite eternal night. Feifei approached her, was also infected by her grief, thinking of her lost mother, and fell into grief together.

The two of them bent their knees to save themselves in the darkness, which was really distressing. I realized that this animation is not only for children, but also for people who have lost their beloved. When the one we love is gone, our most important link with the outside world is also lost. At this time, what we think and feel is not this darkness? Passing away is a loss that can never be recovered.

Through 2021, I have lost my grandma and grandfather one after another. I already understand this feeling better than before. This loss of pain is like a thorn that grows in the heart. It may not hurt when you don't touch it, but once it is touched, it is difficult to get out of it. At this time it is difficult for me to criticize this movie anymore.

Feifei did nothing wrong and her mother left her; but Chang'e did make the wrong choice and kept herself trapped in Guanghan Palace forever. We rarely listen to fairy tales to delve into the meaning behind it, but at this moment I suddenly realized that Chang'e's story is a story of error and punishment. I felt how lonely and cold it was when the forest began to grow around Guanghan Palace. Chang'e has been in it for thousands of years. Regarding regret, what kind of hatred would it be endless.

So it is actually a very good idea to associate Chang'e with the theme of "passing away and healing". Although Chang'e saw Feifei fall into autism and began to help her and finally made the two finally get out of the gloom (thanks to the people around them who love them unconditionally), this transition will still be a bit blunt, but I still I can feel what the creator wants to tell us: the premise of rescue is mutual understanding.

Because I skipped the clip of Feifei’s mother’s death before, I went back and watched it again after watching the movie. Sure enough, it was very sad, just like cheap thrill, the bridge of the death of similar relatives can always penetrate my defense line easily. Am I fragile? It doesn't seem to be. This kind of sadness is also an emotion that belongs to my life experience, and I think this is what increases the thickness of life.

Before this scene, the lens was moonlight, white walls and black tiles, cranes, running water, lotus lanterns, and willows. All of a sudden, I really want to go back to China.

PS: Recently, I am too humble to forget that I am worried about the country. I saw Feifei living in a very traditional ancient town, but she can live without worry (Daddy didn't even reimburse the cost of building the rocket), and The people in the ancient town and Hemeimei singing and dancing (feeling the happiness index is close to the New Yorkers in "The Secret Life of Pets"), I really hope that the Chinese people can live this kind of well-off life without being completely swallowed by urbanization. Life. Is this possible?

PPS: To be honest, Pixar's localization is really very good. I think the ancient towns, rape fields, moon cakes, and hairy crabs in the cartoons must have caught the western audience in a daze, right? Welcome to China!

The shell is packaged with a lot of Chinese elements, but its core is still not Chinese. Imitating Disney's disagreement and starting to sing, Chang'e's appearance is simply shocking! Bunny Bengji is very cute. PS. There is even "Above the Moon" from the legend of Phoenix, hahahahaha Niu breaking.

The more subversive image of Chang'e, Xiao S + Jolin Tsai + Coco Li, the story is not resonant enough, don't worry about being redefined. The co-production between China and the United States, I know the maglev and lunar exploration projects are very powerful, but when they are implanted in the film, I always feel uncomfortable.
