Today we will talk about the French movie "I Lost My Body".

The title of the film is J'ai perdu mon corps / I Lost My Body (2019), and the nickname is "Hand Exploration" (Taiwan).

"I Lost My Body" is the debut feature film of director Jérémy Clapin. The film presents an anti-traditional story.

With its unique perspective and performance techniques, the film has won numerous praises, and won the nomination for Best Animated Feature Film at the 92nd Omouka Film Awards, the 72nd Cannes Film Festival Critics Week Award, and the 32nd European Film Award for Best Animation Nomination Award, the 45th French Caesar Film Award for Best Animation, the 47th Animation Annie Award for Best Independent Animation Feature Film and many other honors.

This film also marks the first time an animated feature film has won the Cannes Film Festival Critics Week Award.

"I Lost My Body" is adapted from Guillaume Laurant's 2006 novel "Happy Hand".

Guillaume Laurent won the nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the 74th Omuka Awards for "Angels Love Beauty".

The plot of the novel is basically the same as that of the animated feature film. The protagonist is a young man named Naoufel, also known as Nafnaf.

He is a young Moroccan, his parents are French literature teachers, and his parents taught him French. At the age of 12, he moved to France, but he could not blend in with his classmates. His parents died unexpectedly, leaving him to grow up alone.

Lowfel fell in love with his uncle Sam's cousin, Shéhérazade, but did not like his cousin Abderraouf.

In an accident, he lost his right hand, so his right hand gained independence, telling a parallel story with himself.

"I Lost My Body" first discussed the adaptation of the original work in 2011, and it took 7 years before and after the production time.

The film is made using the free and open source software Blender. Blender is an open source cross-platform all-round 3D animation production software. It uses python as the built-in script and supports the external Yafaray renderer. It provides a series of animation short film production solutions from modeling, animation, material, rendering, to audio processing, and video editing. .

After the production was completed, the film became one of the few adult animation projects of children's animation company Xilam.

When Netflix acquired the film, it was rated as an R-rated film by the Motion Picture Association.

Director Jehmy Clapan said that the film is "an urban modern fairy tale about destiny and resilience. It tells us that if we want to change things, we must surprise ourselves, dare to do unusual things, and deviate from integrity. And narrow roads". (An urban, modern fairy tale about destiny and resilience; it tells us that to change things, we must surprise ourselves, dare do something unusual, stray away from the straight and narrow)

This passage is also uttered through the mouth of Laufir in the film.

They feel that life should not be clearly arranged by fate. Everyone should be able to give play to their own subjective initiative and live out their own way.

The way to break the destiny is to suddenly do something different from the norm.

Unusual is the way of expression, and the film and the characters in the film do exactly that.

The perspective in "I Lost My Body" is uncharacteristic. What the audience sees is no longer a familiar character, no longer taking the body itself as the main perspective, but with a severed hand as the protagonist.

The name of the owner of the severed hand is Laufir, and the name of the severed hand does not appear in the film. In the script, this severed hand is called Rosalie.

The story uses a editing method similar to "Shards of Memory", with two timelines advancing side by side.

On the one hand, Rosalie traveled across the city to find her body with severed hand. Crisis and tribulations continued along the way. On the other side, Lao Wufeier's life experience is being described, from his childhood, until he grows up, and finally he suffered a severed hand accident.

Life is like flying a fly, and everything doesn't always go well.

Breaking conventions and challenging fate are the subjective struggles of the protagonist who are unwilling to present the status quo, and the result is unlikely to be what he wants. Just like fighting a fly, you think that you have caught the fly, but it is actually just wishful thinking.

Lowfel had a happy childhood and a happy family, but an accident could smash a family to pieces; when he grew up, he was exhausted, and his childhood dreams were all in the mirror. There is no hope in life. After an encounter, Lowffel rekindled hope in life, and then several accidents drove him to the bottom.

Life is like flying a fly, you have to be surprised.

You can't hit the position of the fly. If you want to hit the fly, you may be able to hit it.

Life has to be unexpected. If you follow your destiny in a step-by-step manner, you will never be able to turn around. If you try unexpectedly, you may be able to shed light on it.

The experiences of Lowfel and Rosalie illustrate this point. They were knocked down by fate again and again, and by surprise again and again, they could always find a way to survive and become better.

The impermanence of the world does not fulfill the wishes,

Surprisingly comfort people.
