Socrates at the gas station

Socrates at the gas station said: The only thing you can control is yourself.

A friend recommended this movie. I found it on the eMule, downloaded it for a long time, and tried to find the subtitles for a long time. It took a week before I saw this film. Maybe I have always had too high expectations for it before, so that when I looked at it, it was quite cloudy and unclear.

This movie is a semi-autobiographical genre. A genius gymnast has almost everything his peers dream of, and a smooth life makes him arrogant and arrogant, thinking that he can embrace the whole world by extending his hand. Injured in an accident, he was judged that he was no longer eligible to return to the game, and his life has fallen to the bottom. At this time, he thought of Socrates who had helped him practice and was later abandoned by the gas station. He believed that only Socrates could help him, so he went to ask him for help and began a life of asceticism. After hardships, he finally returned to the game successfully.

This kind of inspirational subject matter is not my preference. The arrogant heart has always thought that he does not need encouragement, and I have been unable to gain strength from such stories for a long time. The plot of this story first reminded me of the plots in countless martial arts movies I watched when I was a kid. After falling off a cliff, a young man who was pursued and killed met a worldly expert, and then became an invincible skill in the world. When watching this film, I have always had the same questions as everyone else, why a mysterious and unpredictable man appeared at a gas station. Use a Zen practice to teach a young man the true meaning of life. But life's circumstances are sometimes so wonderful, no one knows what will happen in the next second, the most bizarre may be the most usual.

What touched me about this film is that it does not simply say that persistence is victory, but rather tells you in a more subtle way, "The soldier will not give up what he likes to do. He finds among the things he likes to do." Love." Yes, finding love, the true meaning of life is as simple as that.

Cultivation is not an easy thing. We are just flesh. The first difficulty encountered in this kind of cultivation is to contend with our own desires: not to watch TV, not to eat meat, and not to have sex. . . . . . . . .

Life has endless desires and countless nightmares, and it is gradual and continuous with the changes in life. Delong Wangshu is human nature, we are such fragile creatures. Only when the desire exists and cannot be satisfied, we can examine the heart more clearly, and there are so many desires, dissatisfaction and fear. That fragile self jumps out from time to time to torture us, what are we afraid of, and what love is. Does the fear stem from our not strong enough hearts.

I once read many books of Osho, and all the cultivation is finally to make people return to themselves, let the truth of the world flow through your heart like a spring of truth, from tracing the moon in the water to finally knowing that there is no water and no moon, everything is vain Phantom. It's just, how do we understand. . . .

Knowing the meaning of one's life is such a moving thing.

For the protagonist, the luckiest thing was to meet Socrates at the gas station by chance. After reading it, I wondered why I didn't meet Socrates or Lao Zhuang. Later, I realized that without Socrates, he is the opportunity that has been waiting for us to discover ourselves. It is the moment of epiphany that we occasionally encounter in the gradual life, and teaches us the wisdom of seeing the vast world beyond our own narrow sky.

In fact, I prefer the title "Meeting Socrates at the Gas Station Late at Night". There are a lot of heroes' fantasy, and the combination of reality and fiction is very good.
