Life is changing day by day, a little bit of progress

This drama has been chased for six seasons. I have watched so many American dramas, but only 5 or 6 have been chased. This is one of them. The detective type of American drama is my first choice. I watched this drama for this reason. Compared to Prison Break, Lost, Desperate Housewives, CSI, 24, this is absolutely low-key, but I can’t let it go.

Cold case refers to those old cases. The rapidly changing Philadelphia has various cases that need to be dealt with every day. Lily Rush alone chose to insist on investigating those cold cases because these dead have been waiting for too long. As things passed, people's demons couldn't stand the torture of time, so Lily also unexpectedly gave people a chance to confess. There is not much reasoning in this detective drama, and there is not much scientific verification. It just relies on the conversations between the detectives and the people involved in the case to find clues from these conversations.

The case here extends for a century, from 191x to 200x. In a hundred years, there have been human barbaric acts, as well as humans’ unremitting struggles and efforts for civilization. The dead and the living have brought us closer to this time, and I am also amazed at the speed of human progress. Going back to the case 40 or 50 years ago, people killed each other cruelly because of race, gender, and sexual orientation. Even if the deceased was a friend or relative of the killer, they couldn't bear their so-called "different". In those years, such killings were unreservedly acquiesced or accepted by people. It seems absurd today. Thank God for allowing us to finally see the absurd and ignorant killing one day. This century has experienced such earth-shaking changes. It seems that yesterday I saw black people because they could not study and talk in a car with white people in a classroom, and today there is a black president; yesterday the women were still hiding in the boudoir at the mercy of men, and today they can stand on the forum of the United Nations. The Chinese screamed out; yesterday, homosexuals were regarded as a different kind of shame, and today they can even receive blessings in church. The world suddenly seemed a lot more tolerant and a lot more friendly. But behind every bit of tolerance for the changes every day, there are many lonely or tragic souls lying there. Until now, there are still many people who have been persecuted and slaughtered because of human ignorance, and there are still many people who are indomitable and stubbornly fighting for a little change. Fortunately, human civilization is still marching on this exhausting bones in the end. Those victims of human ignorance and stupidity will one day look at this gradually tolerant world, slowly progressing world, smiling and resting in peace like the end of each episode of this show.

I cannot ask for the world to be united tomorrow, I cannot see that the earth will be peaceful as soon as we wake up, and we cannot expect that when the sun rises again, there will be no hunger, poverty, disasters and persecutions around us. Fortunately, life is still changing day by day, and human beings are still making little progress. Difficult, but it continues. I hope to be there because there are always some brave fighters and strong "alien" in this world. And if we can't be fighters, we should be careful not to be ignorant and stupid executors sent by Satan. Be more tolerant, and be more friendly, isn't it the same in the kingdom of God?

Cold Case quotes

  • Todd Whitley: What is the point of all of this, after so many years?

Lilly Rush: People shouldn't be forgotten. They matter.

    Todd Whitley: You're a crusader.

Lilly Rush: I guess I am.

  • Nora Lincoln: Mom, leave her alone.

Della Lincoln: The girl needs help.

    Nora Lincoln: Daddy?

Derek Lincoln: Don't look at me. I got a daughter who majors in business, a wife who majors in other people's business. Me, I'm just a restaurant owner.
