Cool in two seconds

Violence and emotion are like two dimensions of a pendulum. It is precisely because of fierce violence that it can use its reactionary force to describe strong emotions. There is very little movement in the whole movie, and each group of violent shots taken in positioning creates a sufficiently objective visual picture system, which seems to put the viewer in the same calm and cold mentality as the big guy, and rather watch the shooting and the bloody scenes calmly. What is more worthy of speculation is the two seconds when the actor stops moving but still keeps the scene before the end of each shot. At first glance, it might be mistaken for the failure of careless post-production. In fact, it is in many of Kitano Takeshi's movies. The style-style cutting technique that appears frequently, it is precisely these two seconds that really make the audience feel the unquestionably coolness of the characters in the film.

The background color of the tragedy is not the so-called exciting heroic story of returning after fleeing to a foreign country, but the sad ending of a dead body in a foreign country. The plot of Kato's suicide is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. In order to protect and achieve his eldest brother, without any second words, he calmly raised himself as if eating, and successfully created a sentimental and righteous role in film history.

It seems to be mixed with a taste of Aki, a story of a Japanese gangster in the United States. The layers of memories don't provide the full storyline, but the full sense of sentimentality. Because memory is never complete, but will be refined to leave behind the most important things. From this point of view, form and meaning are unified. Those vivid and sad or happy past events came like a tide, and the bloody romance that shone out was like a moment of loss caused by looking back for no reason when walking on the street.
