"Attic": small cost, big taste

In my impression, Belgium has always played an obscure role in the field of film, and it lags far behind the Dutch or Nordic films that often bring surprises. Although the movie "The Killer Has No Holiday" filmed in Bruges, Belgium in 2008, although the audience remembers this beautiful city, it has nothing to do with Belgian movies after all.

However, in fact, in the same year, Belgium produced a film called "The Attic", which won the box office of more than 8 million U.S. dollars at a cost of more than 3 million U.S. dollars. Although it seems worthless in front of Hollywood's hundreds of millions of figures, it is already a miracle for Belgium.

The layout of "Attic" is not big, the relationship between the characters is not complicated, and the story itself is not unpredictable. It relies entirely on the rhythm and narrative skills of editing and coloring to integrate a clever drama about stealing fishy outside marriage. A suspenseful masterpiece of climax. The key to this story lies in five close-looking and stinking friends, a sadist, a voyeur, a drunkard, a fisherman, and a normal marriage crisis person. Each of these five people is not innocent, has untold weaknesses, and more or less have marital problems. Therefore, when they jointly owned an "attic" that could be reckless, their respective hobbies and dark sides began to ferment together, revealing their sexual ugliness.

The two-degree reversal of the film is the finishing touch. Vincent, one of the five-man team, was framed by the other four settings. This is the first reversal. After this reversal, the seemingly flat friendship was broken, and the small details that had been laid before were revealed. The surface of the water is connected one by one, pushing the plot to a climax. When the audience thought that the story was about to end, a second reversal appeared. It turned out that the voyeur was the deepest hidden setter. The other three were just used, and the cause of all this was just jealousy. In the end, the voyeur jumped off the building and committed suicide, and the other four people also ended up miserably. This was in response to the old admonition that "you cannot live by yourself".

As the saying goes: "A man is an animal in the lower body." Although this sentence is derogatory, it is not unreasonable. From a biological point of view, male animals have the instinct to spread genes on a large scale. However, humans are rational animals after all, and using biological instincts as an excuse for stealing fishy is untenable. The irony of this film is that the friendship between friends is so vulnerable. In fact, it is not surprising to think about it. Even if it is moral or legal constraints, it is difficult to be despicable and complicated by enemies, let alone the fragile friendship in the film. Up. The friendship in the world is mostly like this, and the ones that can really stand the test are rare. It's not so much the world's declining weather, it is better to be attributed to human nature.

Everyone has a small private attic in his heart, and only oneself knows what is hidden inside.
