The beginning of Japan's defeat!

It is said that it is the best movie about the attack on Pearl Harbor. I marked it and wanted to watch it in 2010 and only watched it on Amazon Prime today (both in 2015). It's really awesome, and I recommend it to everyone who likes war movies! The background is very clear, and the atmosphere of tension and excitement before the war has been rendered strong enough. Seeing the Americans ignoring the intercepted intelligence and radar time and time again, I was really frustrated: How can these people be so stupid! Especially when the little brother from the radar station at 7 o'clock in the morning of the sneak attack reported that there was a large wave of planes rushing in an array, the information center would take it for granted that it was their own B17 plane! Shouldn't this minimum professionalism be to confirm whether it is your own airplane? ! We have always regarded the Japanese navy's airstrike on Pearl Harbor as a "sneak attack", and it is indeed the case. But after watching the movie, I realized that this was not their intention. Although the Japanese army is very cunning and "attacks the unprepared" with wishful thinking, they still intend to abide by the agreement of a civilized country-they must not go to war without declaration. They planned that Washington should receive the declaration of war just half an hour before the attack. Who knew that the White House saw it nearly an hour after the attack! I remember that Gao Xiaosong said in "Xiaoshuo" that during World War II, he said that the Japanese army and navy were working independently, and there was no unified strategic deployment. The beginning of this movie also reflects this. Moreover, even within the navy, there are different voices. Someone knew well before the war that once a war with the United States started, Japan would be defeated step by step. But at that time, people's madness had already turned their minds away, just for a momentary win or loss, who cared about strategic thinking. As the saying goes, "God must make it mad if he wants to destroy it."

The US military and political life and military power in 1941 stated by the United States and the Japanese military and political life and military power in 1941 stated by Japan, the clue is the Pearl Harbor incident. Such films are helpful for a sound view of history. In addition, there is a minute for Kurosawa to direct the scene.

When I watched it again with Lukeson who was sick, I remembered that I never watched it when I was a child. The scene where the old man had a meeting an hour ago was really hard. The next one is pure play for an hour. Fortunately, it is a G-rated film, which is suitable for recommending to children who are interested in World War II.

Tora! Tora! Tora! quotes

  • Lt. Commander Kramer: You're late!

    Mrs. Kramer: Well, I was...

Lt. Commander Kramer: Please, take me to the White House.

Mrs. Kramer: Well, if you'd told me we were invited to the White House, I would have dressed. You know Mrs. Roosevelt. Although she's very informal personally, I've heard she's a stickler for protocol.

Lt. Commander Kramer: Darling, will you shut up and drive.

  • Admiral Chuici Nagumo: The Commander-in-Chief has sent a message wishing us good luck. That, plus the Imperial Proclamation has undoubtedly stirred your loyalty to the Empire. The success of this mission depends on surprise. If we achieve it, the code words "Tora, Tora, Tora," will be sent out.
