The tough world behind the rain of bullets

The story is simple. It started with a team of international volunteers in the conflict zone of the Balkans trying to help local residents get a corpse from a well. The atmosphere at the beginning of the movie was relaxed and happy. The translator was nagging to introduce the sense of humor of the local people here. The war seemed to have nothing to do with them. Then we switched to another pair of volunteers: an experienced American and a rookie French. The bombs on the side of the road made us feel the existence of war and anxiety. But in this movie, the bomb problem that should have been solved tightly and tightly turned into a funny incident. Slowly with the appearance of various characters, small conflicts, let the audience see a beautiful country, but at the same time, it is deeply tortured by the war.

When Xiao Zhengtai was hit by a car and died, she wanted to beat the group of gangsters. The protagonist got out of the car and pulled the frame, but a 10-year-old kid took out a pistol. Xiao Zhengtai said that her parents fled to other places to avoid the war, but then the protagonist went to his house and found that his parents had been hanged at home long ago and Xiao Zhengtai didn't know it. On the way to his house, a small town engulfed by war was spread out in front of us, with a few dilapidated and destroyed houses and few residents. The lighthearted mood disappeared.
Various locals also appeared on the way to find the rope. There is an old cow-herding mother who is not afraid of minefields. Finally, when they are trapped, she comes in handy; there is a group of villagers who are unwilling to sell the rope to them, whether it is because they are really afraid of bad luck or disgusting those outsiders. People; there are prisoners of war in the bus; there are ordinary people who are single guarding the national flag. All the local people gave us a certain understanding of the current situation of the country and the war situation at that time.
Finally, because of the interference of those rigid united unions, the corpse sank to the bottom of the well.
The international volunteers rushed to the next task to "dig out the dung" and sarcastically said, "Today is really a beautiful day."
Suddenly it started to rain, and the rain made the corpse float to the surface. The villagers solved the problem. The rain made their next journey of digging dung more difficult.
Black humor and political satire run through the film.

A Perfect Day quotes

  • Sophie: Where is the roof?

Mambrú: Out there somewhere. They blew it off from right there, you see? They leave an open tank of butane... they light a fuse... close the windows, shut the door. Half an hour later... pfft! The roof is gone.

    Sophie: Who?

Mambrú: Neighbors, probably. But before the war, if you were a Muslim and your husband a Serb... or the other way around, well, it was no big deal. Then the war starts... the lines are drawn. And now it's too dangerous to stay here. So you leave the kids with the grandparents... and you go to the other side... where it's safer. But while you're away... the neighbors blow up your house so you won't come back after the war. But it could be worse.

    Sophie: What could be worse?

    [starting to sit down]

Mambrú: Putting a mine in the sofa in case you do come back.

  • B: It's important moment, your first corpse. You never forget it. It's like your first girlfriend or the first time you get laid. I remember the first time I got laid but my first corpse, that shit is burned in my memory. I'll never forget that face, man.

    Sophie: Was it terrible?

B: No, it wasn't terrible. It was, it was nice. She was, uh, 17 red head, nice body.

    Sophie: The corpse?

B: No, my... The girl, the first girl I slept with. What's wrong with you?
