What a brave attempt

The masterpiece is on the side, and the pearls and jade are in front. This film has been widely followed from the announcement of production to the actual release. It will inevitably be compared with each other, and the pressure will not be less. It can be said that it is a very courageous attempt.

But what's interesting is that although courage is needed on the surface, it is not really needed. As long as you still rely on the story, characters and skeleton of the original Pride and Prejudice, no matter how you edit it, the effect will not be too bad. Compared with other unreliable movies, you can still watch it. The famous example is Ling. The 40th edition of the diehard Jane vomiting blood and the stories of time and space characters are all dislocated, and there are many fans who admire it. On the other hand, no matter how much scolding, old fans can't help but take a look, newcomers will also be attracted, and the box office is always guaranteed.

I try not to make comparisons and just talk about the film itself.

Good: The photographer has first-class skills and beautiful pictures; the story is basically faithful to the original; the actor I am most satisfied with is Mrs. Bennett. The actor looks a lot like John Cusack, and he has a good impression of him. Although he thinks that he is too soft in the role of Darcy, the heroine is on the contrary, a little wild.

My God, I just thought of these advantages, and I have to talk about the disadvantages.

Talk about the shortcomings: There
are so many unsatisfied actors. Mr. Bingley is the first one. Alas, it’s silly; Mr. Bennett is generally okay, but lacks the Cynical tone of the original book, which may be the director’s. Question, this Mr. Bennett became a simple father, how boring. Wickham is more handsome, but too few appearances, not bad enough; Lydia looks simple and pure; Miss Bingley's arrogance is not stylish enough; Mr. Collins is more mediocre, Charlotte chose a look a bit silly and a bit vulgar Actor, alas, what a smart woman Charlotte is actually! The two heroes and heroines looked at it alone, but they didn't sparkle when they were put together.

The script just responsibly puts the whole story in smoothly, but loses the wonderful dialogue and the vividness of the supporting role in Austin's writings. Maybe the film is not enough to justify these two points, but there are some dramas that only need to be added a little bit to add color, such as the writing of the letter, there is no Bingley thing at all, in fact, this section of his dialogue in the original book is very exciting. Just add a few sentences to write alive. Another example is Wickham, who simply played once and then dismissed others. Not only did he not appear, but he did not even explain that he was willing to pursue other rich ladies, and there was no other foreshadowing to make people think he was bad. There are many other places like this. Generally speaking, the script is relatively modern, the story basically belongs to Lizzy, and the others are more obscure. It would be more appropriate if the name of the movie was changed to "Liz's Story".

Originally wanted to be picky about other things, alas, I stopped writing. Once again, although there are many shortcomings (mostly Jane fans and 95 fans pick these thorns), but the pictures are good-looking, handsome men and beauties, the light and shadow are charming, it is still very eye-catching.

The twinkling eyes cannot be avoided in the morning light, no one in this world is worthy of you. Love is like the breeze in the countryside and mountains and plains in England, blowing away my arrogance and loneliness, and steadily pushing me full of happiness.

Mr. Bennet: If any young men come for Mary or Kitty, for heaven's sake, send them in. I'm quite at my leisure.

  • Mrs. Bennet: Do you not want to know who has taken it?

Mr. Bennet: As you wish to tell me, my dear, I doubt I have any choice in the matter.
