Whenever a hobby gets involved, it becomes an addiction. The same goes for watching movies. To a terminal patient like me who is so hungry and thirsty that he doesn't watch a movie a day, watching a movie is like smoking marijuana. And similarly, to a certain extent, it takes a large dose of fierce material to let the nerves experience the long-lost pleasure.
I often think that B-level movies are heroin made up by a bunch of old smokers who smoked up in the movies. However, B-level films are neither pure nor refined. On the contrary, it is both erotic and violent, both low-level and disgusting. It brings you naked sensory stimulation through a bloody, dark style. Then, you will shout like drugs or sex: It's fucking great!
"A Dawn" is such a B-rated film, it is wicked, weird, but hearty.
The first half of it is a road movie with a strong western temperament. It tells the story of a pair of robber brothers fleeing. It is rough and wild. Quentin plays the chattering brother of the sex monster. His eyes are very charming, and he eagerly wants to make peace. All women solve one of his problems. Quentin is also the producer of this film. It is estimated that he can only come up with a name like the "Pinch Nipples" bar.
But the second half of the film suddenly turned into a zombie movie. So, the violent brother (George Clooney) played with his skills and led a group of heroes, stupid birds and vampires. Killed a fucking dimly. Groups of demons danced wildly, and their flesh and blood flew everywhere. At the end, he returned to the road of the road film leisurely. This whole plot is also a bit like the process of taking drugs, anxious, burning, peaking, and then relieved.
Obviously, such a freak movie is not one that can be smashed. In addition to Quentin, director Rodriguez is by no means good. In fact, this is a standard Roche movie, which is enjoyable, alternative, and smooth. Its western temperament, highway complex, and robber plot escaped from the "Trilogy of Murder", while the dancing, erotic, dark, and bloody sense of style gave birth to the later "Sin City". It can be said that this is an experimental work of Rodriguez, who is in transition, and pays tribute to the B-level film. Quentin just added some spicy condiments to this meal.
More obviously, this dish is not something anyone can eat. Because your movie appetite hasn't been developed to this level, you can't digest it, no blessings. When your poisoning day gets deep and you have to get an intravenous injection to relieve your depression, you will definitely be like Quentin did on the set: Damn! Splash me some fucking blood! hurry up!
