Questions about the plot.

Why did an old man hire Jack to investigate Murray in the name of extramarital affairs?

At this point, the two main lines of the movie cross. One of the main lines is the problem of dams. However,
another main thread that cannot be ignored is that the old man wants his daughter/granddaughter. It can be inferred, this old man
a "daughter / granddaughter" has been hidden Murui two couples. When the old man learns that this "daughter/granddaughter" exists,
it's like getting her. So he called Jack to investigate Rim, in the name of an extramarital affair.

2. When was the "daughter/granddaughter" hidden by Evelyn? When did Murray die at home?

After Murray appeared in the newspaper, the "daughter/granddaughter" was hidden by the Murray couple. Because I don't want the old man to get her. Mu Rui died
when? The answer is the morning Jack went to Evelyn's house. Evelyn went to ride a horse, and Murray was drowned at home. Thus
it is visible, Mu Rui and "daughter / granddaughter" no affair? He just knew his wife was raped and gave birth to a daughter, something
real, and help his wife take care of the daughter?

3. When was the police bribed? What happened to the woman posing as Evelyn?

The police seemed to be bought at the end. Because the woman has in posing Yifu Lin, the police found her dead, and cited Jie
grams over and tell Jack an important clue: Murui lungs salt water. It can be seen that the police were not bought at this time. And
really want to investigate the murderers. It can be inferred that the woman posing as Evelyn is not a simple character. First of all, she knows the whole
dam shady, because she hinted Jack servant see the newspaper reported. So she was silenced. The police were a step late.

In the final scene of the Fourth, at 1712 Ameida Street, Chinatown, how did the police find this place?
When the old man escorted Jack to this place, the police had already arrived one step ahead, and handcuffed Jack's two assistants. But they
did not find Yifu Lin et al. This is strange enough in itself. How did the police find here? They do not seem to
be in accordance with the address recruited otherwise have found Yifu Lin et al. So are the two assistants following Jack? Not quite put it
through - Why hold back on the street two men, rather than tracking in the end, find Yimei Da Street, 1712?

Curiously, the police after listening to Jack shouted the old man is after all a mastermind, the reaction is very dull, seems to have known a
cut, but it does not seem to know the old man (old man on the spot to do self-introduction). So why did the police stop chasing everything,
but let Jack go, indicating that everything is over? Does this mean that the police have been bought? When was it bought?
If the police at some point have been bought old man, then they continue to trace the whereabouts of Yifu Lin, the purpose is to find the
murderer, become a help to find the old man, "daughter / granddaughter." This seems to explain it. But then the problem came again
. The police shot at Evelyn’s car. How can he be sure that he would not hurt the "daughter/granddaughter" and promise to only hit Evelyn
? Does this mean that the police have not been bribed, but just want to prevent the suspect from escaping?

5. When did Evelyn know that the real murderer of her husband was his father?

It’s worth noting that Evelyn didn’t know that her husband was drowned at home until Jack told her. When Jack asked her is
NO kill her husband, Jack, and this time Yifu Lin Mu Rui are not sure in the end who is killed. Thus, before they
do not determine who is the murderer. When Evelyn revealed all about the rape of his father, the truth became clear.

Did Liu Murray and his "daughter/granddaughter" have an extramarital affair?

The answer to this question, Evelyn himself should be clear from beginning to end. In the car, Yifu Lin told Jack, the
lover is in fact her sister. Jack asked Yifu Lin Is it because my sister and her husband's extramarital affairs and murder, Yifu Lin back this
answer: She is the default affair, but stressed that he will not hurt Murui. Does this mean that extramarital affairs are real? According to drama
logic of this given Murui you should know "daughter / granddaughter" life experience. Therefore, the possibility of extramarital affairs seems unlikely. Conditions
and Yifu Lin stressed Murui is a real gentleman. So, is Murray just helping Evelyn to look after the "daughter/granddaughter"
? I am not sure about this problem.

Regarding the plot of the film, many places are confusing, and I still can't figure it out.

After reading it, I was sad and helpless, and I didn't have the energy to watch the playful STRFKR. The soundtrack is so powerful that a few shots almost break the guts. What is annoying is that there is a girl who seems to have never watched a movie sitting behind her.

I thought it was a femme fatale, but it turned out to be a femme society. The mode of keeping track of and finding out the truth to solve the problem was completely denied at the end of the film. Even if the heroine prompts the truth early, the real appearance of the city's creator and dictator behind the scenes is still desperate.

  • Lt. Escobar: You must really think I'm stupid, don't you, Gittes.

Jake Gittes: I don't think about it that much, but gimme a day or two and I'll get back to yuh. Now I'd like to go home.

Lt. Escobar: I want the other pictures, Gittes.

    Jake Gittes: What pictures?

Lt. Escobar: THIS broad hired you, not Evelyn Mulwray.

    Jake Gittes: Yeah?

Lt. Escobar: Yeah. Somebody wanted to shake Mulwray down; she hired you. That's how come you found out he was murdered.

Jake Gittes: I heard it was an accident.

Lt. Escobar: C'mon, Gittes. The hell d'you think you're dealing with? A bunch of assholes? Mulwray had salt water in his lungs. You were following him day and night; you SAW who killed him. You even took pictures of it. It was Evelyn Mulwray, and she's been payin' you off like a slot machine ever since.

Jake Gittes: You accusin' me of extortion?

    Lt. Escobar: Absolutely!

Jake Gittes: I don't think I need a day or two; you're dumber than you think I think y'are.

  • Jake Gittes: May I speak frankly, Mrs. Mulwray.

Evelyn Mulwray: You may if you can, Mr. Gittes.
