Alright, let's be fair. Before watching this, I heard someone say Zhou Xingchi was very dissatisfied with the finished product more than once. Let’s talk about the embarrassing dubbing first. For the role of Ruolan, at first, I was blind to Song Hye Kyo and thought it was Song Hye Kyo trying to squeeze Chinese. Later, I found out that it was not Song Hye Kyo, so it was fucking embarrassing. I don't want to talk about Deng Chao's departure. Then there is the awkward laugh. The laugh is very Stephen Chow, but I didn't laugh at all. Friends who got the feelings, are you really laughing with your heart or are you all mentally retarded? The grand theme of the whole story is even more blunt than the writing of elementary school students (4-person group leader level) (I think everyone wants to know how humans and mermen reproduce instead of protecting the environment).
