Deception--Interlude of Marriage

I stumbled across this film on a friend's computer. I watched it without any psychological expectations. I originally wanted to play the time to wait for dinner, but I didn't expect to watch it so easily. For someone like me who has many problems, it is not easy to watch a film from the beginning. Although this film seems to be an emotional film, it also has ups and downs, interlocking. The strangest thing is that the plot of the story is mostly expected, but it still surprises me when it actually happens.

It is a very simple story. Both parties in the marriage have had an affair, but they are both afraid of hurting each other and are struggling to tell the truth. This seemingly benign concealment from each other is the key to keeping the story interesting. If everything is made clear, it may be another ending, but this completely loses the visibility. However, in the story, the arrangement of the plot is still worthy of scrutiny. In terms of character, Harry is the most plump and most contradictory. It can be said that among these characters, this character is the most difficult to grasp but the best interpretation. , To put a man who is kind, educated but lacks a sense of responsibility, or has some childishness in place. Another successful character is his wife Pat, whose expressions successfully reflect the state of mind. Especially the scene where she drank the medicine and sat on the bed talking to harry. I am still trying to figure out what she was thinking at that time. I even think she already knew what her husband did to the pot of medicine. Her expression is enough to leave enough room for imagination. In addition, the character of kay is slightly flat, and compared with the first two people, it is too full, and her emotional transformation is also abrupt and unnatural. The role of retired 007 can only be considered ordinary. In fact, this character should be very dramatic. As the serial person of the whole story, all important information is explained by him. But when it comes to acting, it always feels like something is missing. The two most important lines of the story, "the burden of conscience" and "Did we build our happiness on the unhappiness of others? That's for you to judge. Whoever in this room knows what's going on in the mind of the people who sleep next to you, please, raise your hand. I know you can't, can't honestly. Perhaps it is also what the film wants to express and the attitude it holds, on marriage, on love, on people.

Conscience is too big, and it is difficult to give a clear statement. As for whether to base our happiness on the suffering of others, of course we can only judge by ourselves, but such judgments are often false judgments, because we can only experience Our own feelings, and whether others are happy or miserable, we can only think we know. Just as Harry and Pat thought in the film. But often the truth is not what we think it is. It is reasonable to say that we are in love with each other. Marriage is actually far more than the scope of love. If you have love, you need to stay together, and if you have passion, you need warmth. Although both sides of the marriage in the film have betrayal and deceit, I always believe that they are deeply in love, as they have repeated many times, because when we are immersed in a stable state of life for too long, We will become less sensitive to the original person, that relationship, and even a little numb, but this does not mean the end of love. It's like the two protagonists in the play each seek another "true love", but after going through the twists and turns, they find that the place where the mind can be peaceful is still there. I think this is what love should bring us in the end. This leads to another question. It is impossible for a person to love only one person in his life. Although people in love hope that they are the only one, this is not a problem. We may fall in love with two people at the same time. Maybe because of curiosity, maybe because of unknown reasons, no matter what the reason, after a period of time, you will understand what you need and what is most important, just like Harry said to Pat at the end "How much I need you.". Some might say it was because kay offered to break up with Harry, but I don't think so, there are things in your heart that you don't all realize, it's often something happens that makes you realize them. Even if Harry used Pat as the last straw when he was at his worst, it was a life saver after all. Because if he doesn't need it, he can completely avoid this straw, maybe it can be attributed to "selfishness", or not strong enough in character and need to rely on. But I have to admit, that's how people are.

In addition, as for Harry's attempt to murder his wife in the play, I think this is just a dramatic means to exaggerate Harry's desire to get out of a state of mind, making the plot more attractive, tense and dramatic. In fact, everyone will have similar thoughts in their hearts, at different times, to different degrees, and under different circumstances, but they are often not put on the table so sincerely. Ha ha.

In fact, betrayal and deception are not terrible. Everyone has an acre of private land in their hearts. When we accuse others of deception and betrayal, do we have the same behavior and disgraceful thoughts ourselves? The most important thing is to know what you want and what is most important.
