Moral Subject and Sisterhood

One of the heroines of "Portrait of a Burning Woman", I like it. She wore a coat that would be very dirty for ordinary people to wear throughout the whole process, but she looked good no matter how she looked, because she had a strong mental subjectivity. The invitation of the Kennedy pharmaceutical company proves that the heroine is very professional, has a strong subjectivity in her career, and has a clear logic in her work. In the end, I gave up pharmaceutical companies (bourgeois life) and chose community hospitals (proletarian life). There are two reasons behind it, one is because of the indirect harm to black girls, and the other is because I prefer to live in a world of "true love" (the details of the movie are indeed also presented this). The heroine is so smart, she must know the hypocrisy of the capitalist world. The whole thing is about how the true morality of the subject evokes the morality of others. But it is not a ramble, there are many foreshadowings, and the structure is tight. The heroine is not a moral hero. She is scared when she sees the underworld, gets angry when she is beaten, and has no choice but to hold unshakable witnesses. But she just wanted to stick to her conscience. One second she was dizzy when threatened, and the next second she immediately followed the witness' motorcycle. Only by following this psychological process can the audience truly identify with the morality of the proletarian subject. The reason why it is called proletarian morality is that the reason for the heroine's actions is to sympathize with the killed black girls at the bottom. During the process, the difficulties of other proletarians were exposed at the same time. Even if it was difficult, they also assumed their responsibilities in the hesitation. The director presented this difficulty and hesitation well. So the movie seems very real.

And it also showed sisterhood, helping black girls is sisterhood, the girl's sister internalized patriarchy, and the sister was secretly happy when she lived outside, but she gave her sister a hug

The Unknown Girl quotes

  • Julien: When I saw that kid having his fit, shaking all over... I saw myself when my dad hit me. All I got from him was beatings. I wanted to be a doctor to treat him or to treat myself, I don't know. Or to be a better doctor than ours who thought I bruised myself playing.

  • Le père de Bryan: She doesn't care.

Le père de Bryan: She's dead.

Jenny Davin: If she was dead, she wouldn't be in our heads.
