I didn't have much expectations for this movie, because seeing the movie title of "Patient Zero" and the hideous poster reminded me of the virus infection and disgusting cannibalism scenes in the movie, I want to say that the movie is almost the same. that kind of drama.
To my surprise, the movie was actually pretty good. Although many people in the comments think it is not very good.
As a fan of zombie movies and horror movies, I have seen a lot of zombie movies and horror movies. For zombie films, the most impressive ones in recent years are World War Z, Dawn of the Living Dead, Bloodline of Zombies, and so on. The core of zombie movies is nothing more than zombies eating people, but each zombie movie will tell a different story. If the plot is old-fashioned, it will be boring.
This 2018 "Patient Zero" plot tells that after the world was occupied by the zombie virus, only some civilians and soldiers survived in a secret base. The male protagonist is a person who was bitten but not transformed into a zombie, and the female protagonist is Doctors in the laboratory, they want to find out the zero patient through the study of infected people to create a vaccine to save mankind. In the end, the secret base was captured by the infected, leaving only the hero and heroine and the child in their belly to escape and go to a new place, leaving a foreshadowing for the sequel.
Although there are many bugs in the movie, such as the low-level measures to escort the infected as a military base; there is only one motorcycle in the base, and the ending is a bit rushed, but the plot is still passable. The plot is compact, and the main line of the movie is to ask the infected, which is a relatively novel theme, and at the end, it is unexpected that the infected deliberately designed to enter the base, which is interesting.
If you like zombie movies, I think it's worth watching.
