A fairy tale at war

The land is flat and spacious, the houses are just like, and there are fertile fields, beautiful ponds, mulberry and bamboo. Qian Mo traffic, chickens and dogs hear each other. Among them, the exchanges, the clothes, and the clothes of men and women are all like outsiders. Yellow hair down, and happy. . . . . . If I ask what age is this, I don't know whether there is Han, whether it is Wei or Jin.

I think, for "Welcome to Dongmo Village", there is no more accurate film review than the words in "Peach Blossom Spring". This is a Korean film released in 2005. The film tells the story of three Korean People's Army soldiers, two Syngman Rhee soldiers and a United Nations pilot who came to a peach blossom-like village one after another during the Korean War and produced a series of funny and touching stories. In the film, the soldiers of the two camps go from being at odds to being wary of each other to being harmonious with each other. When the little soldier of the Korean People's Army said, "I really hope that the granary of the village will not be full of them and they will continue to work like this", I know that they all have feelings that cannot be separated from Dongmo Village. Why have war? Just do it yourself, well-dressed, peaceful, simple and happy. This is what the characters in the film think. It's what we long for. Open the Xuan Noodle Garden, and talk about the wine. The green fields, the short houses, the young men work in the fields, and the women wash and mend. It would be great to work at sunrise and rest at sunset. Always support peace.

Last but not least, Korean movies seem to have a bit of romance in any genre. It was used a lot in this film. For example, a grenade falls into a granary, blows up corn, and then the corn is turned into popcorn. For example, in the final battle, the mountains were covered with snow, and the enemy planes dropped bombs, so the mountains and fields were like fiery red flowers. Of course this is not a real war. "Welcome to Dongmo Village" is a fairy tale in war, and the real war has also diluted a lot of blood in the film. But no matter how light the war is, I hope it doesn't happen, never.

    Smith: What?

    Teacher Kim: How are you?

Smith: How do you think I am, huh? I mean, how do you think I am? Look at me, huh? I mean, look at me! I'm tied up with sticks here. You know, I feel like shit! Like shit!

Village Chief: [in Korean] Not going well?

Teacher Kim: It's strange. You can see, like it says here, sir.

Village Chief: I can't read that.

Teacher Kim: Yes, sir. Well, if I say

    [in English]

Teacher Kim: 'How are you?', he should say

    [in English]

Teacher Kim: 'Fine, and you?'. That's the right American answer, so then I can say,

    [in English]

Teacher Kim: 'I'm fine'. Only then is this a completed thing. But he's a bit...

Villager: Why isn't he doing as he should? Is he picking a fight?
