The film made a very simple story, but made a very charming (and to some extent ambiguous) taste. The typical new wave movie-style jump cuts, changes with the plot seasons and soundtracks (from woodwinds to strings), etc., are also just right. But its ambiguity is also like a double-edged sword. The cruelty is turned into romance, and the deliberate word game between the French "France" and the male protagonist's name "François" in the film has the feeling of putting this romance on the line. Although I admit that this film is indeed very "French spirit", such a direct shooting still has the suspicion of kidnapping the morality of all (as individuals) French people. (Towel City)

  • François Chevalier: I love you. Look at me. I love you. It's like if I had ten arms to hug you and you had ten arms for me. We're all mixed together. But I found myself with extra arms. I'm taking nothing from you, see?
