The vanguard of the dawn

I was shocked when I watched "A Dawn": The movie can also be shot like this. The kid Quentin is really not a fan. He is indeed a little talented. He was able to make such a movie as early as 1996. Therefore, the appearance of "Kill Bill", which is full of blood spurting and dynamic, is logical.

At the beginning of the film, in the small town of Texas—American crime movies always set in Texas. It is probably a wild land where people’s customs and slashing knife heads usually lick blood. After consulting the information, we learned that Texas is similar to India-Tibet Kashmir and other chaotic places in geographical factors such as latitude-the police chasing the murderer, the murderer is two brothers. The news report in the film explained the origin: his brother Richard robbed his elder brother Seth from prison, and the brothers attempted to flee to Mexico after killing several policemen and people. At the same time, pastor Jacob, who questioned God because his wife died in a car accident, drove a wagon with a son and a daughter to the motel where the brothers were hiding. The pastor’s family was kidnapped by the brothers and forced to help him smuggle into Mexico. The brothers and Carlos, a Mexican joint man, met at the Nilang Bar, and the pastor's family also went with him. The bar is a mixed bag. After the midnight porn show, the beautiful women are full of vampire zombies. So, the killings began. At the end of the film, dawn arrives and everyone dies tragically. Only Seth and the priest's daughter Kate escaped and drove away.

Quentin did not want to create a classic, but he was familiar with the language of movies, but he was able to tell a striking and bizarre story of a pioneer. The direct perception is very similar to Yu Hua's early novels-violent and weird.

The theme of the film is vague or complicated. Quentin's refusal to express his ambitions is not simply a matter of ambition-it can also be understood that the United States has no way and the enlightenment is complete and the beginning of freedom. Quentin hadn't been the eldest brother for many years, he just wanted to talk about it. Of course, some details can still reflect Quentin's metaphysical thinking, such as why God acquiesced in the occurrence of disasters. Quentin does not pursue reality in the general sense. He points directly at people's inner truth, those violent tendencies, those surging desires, irrational thoughts, and so on. Domestic Zhang and Chen should be ashamed. The current performance of these two arms seems to be the loss of narrative ability to obtain high box office.

The characters in the film are not full enough, Quentin tries his best to add information to the dialogue design, trying to make up for the damage caused by the limited linear plot to the character's richness. As for where the characters came from, Quentin didn't care. This is also like the unsung master in Gu Long's later novels. The characters in the film have no sharp contrast between good and evil, no moral preaching. For example, Quentin—this guy looks a bit like Popeye—played Richard, who was surly and lustful and eventually died at the hands of a glamorous vampire; his brother Seth, as a thief, insisted on principles and opposed the indiscriminate killing of his brothers; pastor Jacob doubted God, but reciting biblical sentences amidst siege on all sides, his courage and self-sacrificing spirit were commendable.

The film's narrative is very changeable, and it has always been a realist approach just before the bar dancer's face changes, and suddenly it is surrealistic. The first half of the brothers shooting and killing the female staff of the police hotel owner and bank is like "Natural Murderer". The naked violence is completely outlined. The kidnapping of the priest's family is similar to a general police movie. The initial stage in the Rulang Bar is like an ordinary erotic song and dance movie. If you only watch the upper part of the movie, it is not particularly brilliant, and the rendering of violence is even disgusting. The second half begins with a dancing girl transforming into a vampire. The style has changed abruptly and it has become a horror movie. The action design is similar to a violent tertiary movie, and it seems that there are some shadows of Westerns and Wu Yusen. The narrative of this film is like risotto, although it is not more than a Buddha jumped over the wall, it is also ecstasy. The open ending is also worth mentioning. The thief Seth and the girl Kate go on separate journeys without any emotional entanglements, not bad.

Some details of the film are extremely creative. For example, the brothers used a roll of gasoline-filled toilet paper to kill the hotel owner, and when they went out, there was a burst of flames in the shop filled with spirits. The thief Seth's left tattoo extends all the way to his neck, and he straightens the hair with a gun to make it not tall but powerful and attractive. Richard Wearing myopia looked gentle, but in fact he was nervous. The rape and murder of female bank employees was terrible-the director did not directly express it, but used Seth's shocked facial close-up and the murder scene to quickly switch, expressing in a curve; this seems to be vigorous The sailor guy actually had sexual fantasies when he saw Kate, and asked Kate again and again if it was true. Pastor Jacob was a good-tempered father who questioned the sanctity of his profession. He was weak but very courageous. He took the initiative to ask for his children to be hostages. He discussed fate and theology with Seth on his way to Mexico. During the border inspection, the police only paid attention to Kate's long legs and did not see the two thieves who were hiding next to him. This detail made all the men smile knowingly. The fat man in front of the Rulang Bar solicited customers took a microphone to introduce various pussy, and was beaten up by the brothers. It was funny and vulgar. A group of demons danced in the bar, and there was a speeding party with a small machine gun under his body, which made people spew food. A Vietnam War veteran tried to build a small house, but it was always unsuccessful because the dancers were walking around on the table. It was worth pondering. In the noisy bar, Seth Jacob also argued over the relativity of success. After that, the charming dance poses of the beauty and the snake are worth seeing, and the sensuality mixed with the breath of death is very exciting. The bar section of this half-hour period is extremely vigorous, and the words are difficult to express, so I won’t repeat it. At the end, the car goes away, and the camera is pulled upwards. The appearance of the bar is panoramic. It was originally built on the edge of a mountain or at the top of the Mayan pyramid, surrounded by the wreckage of various cars, which is also true.

Naturally, some details of the film are not very convincing, but this is better than the inability to justify the whole film. Movies are about storytelling. Quentin’s story tells well, so he is an excellent filmmaker. This logic is extremely natural. When will there be such an eye-opening movie in the local area?
