American movies have commonalities, but also individuality (like the non-protagonists Sura and Ula)

The film is adapted from a novel written by the famous science fiction writer Edgar Rice Burroughs. The original novel was published in 1912. This film is based on the first novel in the series. It tells the story of John Carter (Taylor Kutcher), a former military officer who was traumatized during the American Civil War, was taken to Mars inexplicably. Due to different gravitational forces, John became infinitely powerful. The "Superman", who bounced like flying, was then forced to be involved in an unprecedented conflict between several major ethnic groups of local residents. This is the first time the character of John Carter has appeared on the big screen in a live-action movie. And the year he appeared on the big screen also happened to be the 100th anniversary of this novel.

This new masterpiece brought by the famous Oscar-winning director Andrew Stanton is an epic action-adventure masterpiece with the mysterious and magnificent Mars as the background. Recalling what is described in the trailer introduction: However, the pain caused by the war on the earth has long made John unwilling to fight; although several major groups regard him as a key person who can save Mars, he can really leave the past and bear the burden. Take up the important task of defending the people, save this dire world, and reverse the fate of alien battlefields? The answer is yes, he can! Americans are very good at shooting this kind of heroic blockbuster. There is always such a person-always at the critical moment-with the total ability to turn the tide. In most cases, there is also a beauty with beauty and wisdom, or beauty, wisdom, courage, and beauty. Opposing scenes, this is the classic expression of American films.

When watching this movie, it reminded me of the story of "Brave Heart" William Wallace and Isabella; it reminded me of the story of "Prince of Persia: Blade of Time" Dustan and Princess Tamina of Alamut story. The background is very grand, but the ending is sad and happy. The expression of tragedy is stronger than the perfect ending of the story. Because of this, "Brave Heart" has become the supreme classic in many people's hearts. Also in this film, heroism, free will, honor, rights, teamwork, love, passion, etc. are also promoted, and the emotions of the audience are pushed to a climax.

Some people say it looks good, while others say it is not good, and it is hard to tune in. There are two sides to everything. Personally, this film still feels pretty good. The director portrayed a beautiful and mysterious cave fantasy world on Mars, which is as deserted as the Gobi Desert. In terms of character performance, everyone has a distinct personality. There are four The shape of the alien with one hand is very cute, especially his body movements; in terms of artistic expression, the alternation of the past and the present is interspersed, and people can't help but think of the foreign version of "Moonlight Treasure Box", and it is very delicate. The emotional depiction of the characters, such as the loyal Martian dog "Ula", who is loyal and inseparable. Although it looks ugly like a hippopotamus, it is ugly and gentle, loyal and brave. If I raise a dog in the future, I will call it "Wula". For example, the subtle emotions of "Sura" and her leader's father are also touching. The brave leader will let go of power in spite of his own safety and fled John and his daughter. This is a father's instinct. Have you ever seen a Martian who can cry? The tears that Sura’s father shed when he saw John and the Princess of Mars kissing each other were not the tears of a crocodile. When Sura wiped the tears gently for his father, it was enough to understate but it was a finishing touch to portray a daughter. All the love and respect for my father seems to be as light as a feather but as heavy as Mount Tai.

Sometimes watching foreign movies requires great care, otherwise you may not know what the story is about until the last ten minutes. The details of the foreign film may be the clues of the whole film. The beginning of this film mentions John's unexpected death and the strange requirements after his death, which paved the way for the reproduction of the final character. (I can see it, I guess he didn't die, it was a fake death!-said smugly) Dear you, do you see it? When John lay in the tomb again, holding an artifact in his hand and chanting the ancient and mysterious password to pass through, the responsibility and greatness of love edified the soul of every movie viewer.

John Carter quotes

  • Sola: [as they follow Dejah who is supposed to be taking them to the river Iss] Dotar Sojat. Carter! I do not think she leads us to the Iss.

John Carter: Alright then, Sola. Just play along.

John Carter: [Carter rides his lizard-horse creature closer to Dejah and suddenly grabs her rains] What do you think I'd do once I saw your city and not some river?

Dejah Thoris: What do you mean?

Sola: Cloras Anthorea, they should be at our backs by now. You lead us toward Helium!

Dejah Thoris: Once we reach there, you would see for yourself the virtue of our cause.

Dejah Thoris: Everyone thinks their cause is virtuous, professor.

[suddenly he grabs her stuff and throws her off her lizard-horse creature and he and Sola take off leaving her behind]

Dejah Thoris: What are you doing? No! John Carter! You can't!

Sola: [as they pretend to leave her] I like this plan better.

John Carter: Just wait. She'll come around.

  • Dejah Thoris: You mad fool! You're not from Earth! There are no Gates of Iss! I only told you what you wanted to hear so you'd get us out! Stop! I can't! I cannot marry him!

    John Carter: Can't marry who?

Dejah Thoris: The Zodanga Jeddak you fought. Sab Than. He offered a truce to my father in exchange for my hand.

    John Carter: Your father?

    Dejah Thoris: Tardos Mors.

Sola: The Jeddak of Helium. She is a princess.

John Carter: A princess of Mars. How about that? A princess who didn't wanna get married, so she ran away.

    Dejah Thoris: No.

John Carter: Is that all there is to this story?

Dejah Thoris: No! I didn't run away! I escaped!

John Carter: From what? His breath? So marry the guy and save your people.

Dejah Thoris: A life of oppression, that's not living!

[as she runs to follow them Dejah falls, Carter suddenly turns back and offers to help her up]

Dejah Thoris: If you had the means to save others, would you not take any action possible to make it so?

John Carter: No good will come out of me fightin' your war.

Dejah Thoris: I would lay down my life for Helium. Yes, I ran away. I was... afraid, weak. Maybe I should have married, but I so feared that it would somehow be the end of Barsoom. I tell you truly, John Carter of Earth, there are no Gates of Iss. They are not real.

John Carter: I'm sorry, princess. But this...

John Carter: [he shows her the medallion that brought him to Barsoom]

John Carter: This is real. And so is my cave of gold.

[he offers his hand to Dejah to help her up which she reluctantly takes]
