The movie tells the story of poor student Charlie, who agreed to take care of the accident during Thanksgiving to earn a living. He was blind retired lieutenant colonel. He originally thought that he would only take care of his daily diet at home. Unexpectedly, the blind lieutenant colonel would have no focus in life. No work, no self-esteem, no love, waiting for the passage of time in the dark every day, and unable to rely on others to take care of everything! His life has no hope, no joy, no meaning...So he decided to enjoy a life with endless aftertastes before he died. Stay in a luxury hotel suite, eat delicious food, drink fine wine, take the risk of driving a famous car, visit relatives, and spend the night with beautiful women. These are all things he wants to do before his death. After fulfilling these wishes, the lieutenant colonel plans to raise his gun to commit suicide...
How can Charlie make the lieutenant colonel change his mind? When life loses hope, what is there to miss?
If there is hope, dignity, and existence worthy of being loved and loved in life, people will never choose to commit suicide.
I will not spoiler it. I highly recommend this film to you.
Special praise 1: The lieutenant colonel encounters a beautiful woman in a restaurant to dance tango, which can be said to be a classic. Even though the lieutenant colonel has no expectations for life, life still has unknown surprises.
Special Commendation 2: Chris O'Donnell, who plays poor student Charlie, for his excellent performance of the kind and sincere temperament of this student! Only kind and sincere care can save the lieutenant colonel from the path of suicide.
