Shady bird of prey

It took me two nights to finish reading "The Revenge Is My" by Imamura Shohei after I left work the day before yesterday and yesterday. It was pretty good. I've always wanted to watch this film, but I didn't watch it for various reasons. When I went out to buy a disc on the weekend, I saw that the No. 80 of Master Zunbao was this disc, so I bought one.

When modern Chinese literature broke out in the 1980s and 1990s, critics imported a new term called "zero-degree writing", which specifically refers to the writer's attitude of writing calmly without adding his own judgment and preferences. In my personal opinion, this concept is somewhat similar to the "new novel" advocated by Rob Griyer. The purely objective description of the environment always presents subtle differences due to different observation angles and objects.

"Revenge is with me" can be said to be such a "new novel with zero writing", which is very different from the crime film type of Japanese reasoning films, and it focuses on the psychological process of crime. Shohei Imamura used the same observation method as a botanist to calmly and objectively describe the murders again and again, without sympathy, compassion, and even less indignation. With a strong research color, he was cold-blooded to relish. road. Several murder scenes were shot with mid-range and long-range shots. The only murder that was caused by love was in a narrow room. Close-up close-ups seemed quite tragic.

On the whole, Masahira Imamura gave up delicate psychoanalysis, which is not a rule that all crime movies must follow. What he wanted to show was the brutality and complex confusion of life as a whole, the inescapability of violent subconsciousness, and even the impulse that accompanies love and death.

Although there are standard psychoanalytic language such as "You dare not kill the person you hate", this is undoubtedly a failure. Another biggest shortcoming, even a shortcoming related to the overall situation, is that the inserted protagonist witnessed his father behave softly in front of the ship officer when he was young. The whole film intentionally or unintentionally led the audience to believe that this is the source of the protagonist's brutal psychology.

I appreciate the drama of the father and daughter-in-law I joined, which expands the connotation and performance of the whole film. Don't mistake it for a psychological analysis of the protagonist. The dog-killing section that the mother told the protagonist is particularly exciting, and the violence is completely unfounded here. The ending is a bit strange, if you think about it, the film will be hated by religious people. Because the remains were cast aside and stopped in the air, seeming to sanctify a brutal soul outside of such a moral system, and make him a representative of a real person after God's death. This is really not easy for people to accept.

The actors are also outstanding. The shape of Ogata boxing is tall and individual, with dark eyes, which is very suitable for the role; the Three Kingdoms Rentaro looks very introverted, but also unfathomable, very similar to this father with criminal blood. Several actresses are rewarded. Mitsuko combines rigidity and femininity together, and has a rare good performance.

Works by the late Japanese master Masahira Imamura. The terrible thing about the devil lies not in the heinous crimes committed against society, but in the individual's self-abandonment. The greatest sorrow in the world does not lie in how deep and painful the injury is, but in the repeated cycles of similar tragedies!
