I prefer long foreplay to desperate orgasm

The sentence in the title is just right for the feeling of watching this movie. At the premiere, I didn’t expect the second half of the killing game to give me too much surprise. In fact, I even felt that the scene after entering the game was disappointing. There was no appealing tension and the fighting scenes were also disappointing. Slightly weak, not to mention the loopholes in the science fiction level. Someone in the movie theater left the scene when the poisonous fog was dissolved. But if you don’t watch the movie with the excitement of the battle royale scene, the more than an hour of foreshadowing in the early stage of the film is its highlight. After all, this is a middle gear that takes on the front and the back, and it wants to express far more. Killing is as simple as that.

After Katniss and Pita became the winners in the last movie, they began to live in lies. Their love is more like a TV show for the public to watch. Katniss chooses to cooperate more in order to survive, but in reality she has a childhood sweetheart, Gail. It's like an actress in a TV series, in which she loves someone, but in reality she has a lover and doesn't have much to do with the male protagonist. It's just that the situation facing Katniss is more complicated. This is not only acting, but also a political game. She was not a political person at the beginning, she just wanted to protect the people around her, so Katniss actually became a victim of political battles on both sides. The ruler used her false love with Pitta to maintain order, while the masses under the rule regarded her as hope and a flame in the dark. But who cares about her inner thoughts. Katniss might only think that there are two: Pita and Gail.

In the Congress District, Pita and Katniss lived together, and later acted until they were about to get married. But the relationship between people is more due to long-term getting along and contact, and love at first sight is unreliable. No matter how much Katniss defended, she and Pita inevitably formed an alliance in that cruel place, and the relationship further changed slightly. In the movie, they consoled each other and confronted fear. No matter how true the acting is, it is also false, but the interaction of actors in the play is real, and the formation of affection is unavoidable. This is also the reason that so many actors come together after acting.

Speaking of Gail, Katniss repeatedly believed that she loved him, but after she replaced her sister into the Hunger Games, Gail almost stayed away from her life, only occasionally meeting and chatting for comfort. The rule of those in power is becoming more and more brutal and tyrannical, but the rules are flexible. Once the limit is reached, people's resistance will come. All they want is a hope, just like the title of the film, sparkling a prairie fire. Under such circumstances, Katniss gradually understood her situation, but she was just a lonely, kind woman, and being able to protect the people around her was her only wish. Gail is too far away from her life, feelings become uncertain. From Gal’s perspective, this is even more true. On the one hand, he deeply loves Katniss, but on the other hand, he can’t stand the closeness between her and Pitta. Even if it was acting, Katniss gradually realized that she had a love for Pitta. She is also full of confusion at the change of attitude. Love is the thing that cannot be measured by reason, but it can be seen from the movie that Katniss is still biased towards Gale. She wants to break free from the system and acting, leave all right and wrong, and live with Gale. But things are counterproductive.

At the end of the movie, the thirteen districts resurfaced, Pitta was captured, and the power holder became angry and destroyed the twelve districts. Katniss' last expression made her look more like a warrior. It can be said that the climax of "The Hunger Games" has just begun, and I am looking forward to the following plot and emotional development. Leaving aside the original novel, this film is ambitious in commercial films, with bright spots and flaws coexisting. I just want you not to look at it with the mentality of watching Battle Royale. Compared to politics, I pay more attention to Katniss’ emotional development and personal growth. So I can ignore the murderous climax that is bound to come, and savor the long foreplay.

Much better than the first one

Although Jennifer Lawrence is really ugly, I think she will end up with the one-meter-seven-square-faced Pita that is useless for her. What does the 1.7-meter male lead and the 1.9-meter male second director think?

Katniss Everdeen: It's a little overwhelming.

Plutarch Heavensbee: It's appalling. Still, if you abandon your moral judgment, it can be fun.
