The truth is left to future generations to answer!

This is another crime movie adapted from a real case. In New York in the 1970s, a vicious criminal specialized in sexually assaulting and killing children. His criminal clue was to commit crimes through the children’s initials and towns beginning with the same letters. So the police called him the "letter killer."

Female police officer Megan was appointed to be responsible for the investigation of this case. She paid special attention to this case. In order to find the real culprit, she even went to the point of sleepless nights and food and trance. "How many people do you think have the same initials? Less than 2%" Because of this theory, she determined that the criminal was a premeditated serial killer, and even estimated that he would use the same technique to kill more girls.

The police department saw that she was overly nervous about the case, and she was out of control. She even showed self-talking and irritable schizophrenia symptoms during the investigation, so they decided to let Megan withdraw from the investigation of the entire case. She also had a complete mental breakdown that night and chose to commit suicide, and was sent to the hospital by her boyfriend.

Diagnosed by a doctor as "adult schizophrenia", Megan spent 2 years in the hospital in a convalescence period. During these two periods, the letter killer did not show up again, and the victim was only one of the previous children. The name slowly faded out of the tricky cases in the police station. Everyone thinks that the child mutilation incident was accidental. The accidental name, accidental location, and accidental collection fell together.

Two years later, Megan's good performance in the hospital was finally approved for discharge. But she still misses the "letter killer" case. She is worried that the assailant will commit the crime again and hurt more children. Megan told the patients she knew in the hospital about her troubles about the case. She said that her hypothesis about the "letter killer" was valid. And always firmly believe that the killer will continue to commit crimes.

The patient lost his family in a car accident, and he will spend the rest of his life with a wheelchair. Megan is his only friend. He listened to Megan's analysis of the case and his letter judgment. It may be true that all of this is really accidental, the criminals are only committing crimes on a whim, and there is no premeditating about the letters.

When the film sees this, clues will come out. The attentive audience may guess that the patient above is actually a real "letter killer." Of course, as he said, he didn't have any premeditating, let alone any letters, but at that time he committed a crime, raped and killed the young girl. Everything is accidental. The schizophrenic "letter killer" that made Magen, the policewoman, turned out to be her own inference error. She fell into her own whirlpool and couldn't help herself!

But the story did not end there. The bodies of the other two girls were found. The initials of the name and location are in line with Magen's assumptions and inferences about the "letter killer" two years ago. As the party with the most say in the case, she was re-invited to the middle of the investigation of the case.

When Magen felt that he was getting closer and closer to the truth, he was already far away from the case itself! She couldn't stand the schizophrenia again, fell completely, and was sent to the hospital again. In order to clarify the truth of the case, she injured the doctor and escaped from the hospital. Helpless, she could only take shelter at the patient's house.

The appearance of a cat made Magen who had just relaxed his vigilance again (cat fur is an important clue to the case). She finally found the true picture of the case in the patient's bedroom. She shared with him every step of the case, but she didn't know that the real culprit had always been by her side.

The man completely confessed in front of the evidence, and the audience finally knew the story of the incident. The first time he committed the crime was without any tactics. The so-called "letter killer" actually had no basis. It was entirely a wishful thinking by Magen himself. During the two years in the hospital, the crime has not been committed again. It wasn't until Magen started to tell him about his hypotheses about the case, and his research on the "letter killer" revived his criminal heart!

The "letter killer" reappeared in society, and Magen's hypothesis was confirmed. Everyone no longer regarded her as a patient or a madman, but agreed with her inference. Everything is full of irony, and the conscientious policewoman Magen is ruined by her own theoretical inferences. It can be said that she "created" a "letter killer"!

The man's secret was revealed, and he was vicious and prepared to kill Megan. It turned out that his leg was not crippled at all, everything was premeditated to gain trust and sympathy. Before he stepped down, he did not forget to tell Megan that everything he did was largely for her, for her to regain the respect of his colleagues in the police station!

At the last moment, Megan broke free and shot the murderer. The man rolled down the river and disappeared, as if everything was an illusion of Megan. This man had never existed before.

Megan was taken to the hospital and under strict care. No one believes that the murderer escaped, because she seemed to be much more severe than the mental separation symptoms two years ago. The police station found a scapegoat, made some perjury, and ended the "letter killer" case hastily. Everything seems to be back to when there is nothing wrong. Only Megan knows that the murderer is still committing the crime. If he is not caught for a day, he will continue to commit crimes and torturing children...

because she saw the ghosts of the children, from the beginning See. Those dead children kept appearing in her life, crying for her to find the murderer. Megan's spirit is constantly being destroyed, she wants to help them but can't do anything. Megan sees more and more unjust souls. She has been living in the hospital. She knows that the "letter killer" will continue to commit crimes. The purpose of her life is to get out of the hospital and kill him by herself! The dead let her remember!

Summary:

This "Alphabet Killer" is somewhat similar to "Zodiac" in terms of narrative, and both use a case investigator to reveal a piece of history. "Zodiac" so far no one knows who the killer is, and so is the letter killer. The difference is that this film answers this doubt to the audience. We know who the murderer is, but we can't believe whether that is real or Megan's pathological hallucination.

This is a crime film with supernatural elements. The ghosts that Megan saw from the beginning to the end were actually her hallucinations, but the hallucinations were real. She pursued the case based on her hallucinations, but step by step fell into the grave she dug. Another police officer who partnered with investigating the case also said, "Your mentality is abnormal. You committed suicide because of schizophrenia. You shouldn't be involved in the investigation of this case again. You will cause trouble."

As a film based on a "real case adaptation", "Letter Killer" can be described as pure fiction. The director fictionalizes the killer behind it, and even fictionalizes the illusion world of the investigator. I think the only thing that is close to the truth is the ending subtitles. The killer is still at large. No one knows why the child got in his car and was killed.

Policewoman Megan said so in titles remarks:

The main content of this work is a question
mostly the job is to ask questions
frustrating part of
the frustrating part
makes you crazy part is
the part that drives you crazy
you really want The people who talked to them are dead.
Is that the people you really want to talk to, are dead

. This kind of narrative angle is also true and illusion, and it is more attractive than a simple crime-themed film. The sudden emergence of ghosts and the unjust soul of a dead child is absolutely enough for a crime film.

Is the hypothesis of the "letter killer" true or wishful thinking. This is the same as the Zodiac, no one can say clearly. Policewoman Megan's selfless devotion led to the final schizophrenia. Some people seem to be too exaggerated, but that dedication is indeed worthy of admiration. She did not just find a scapegoat in order to complete the task. In the end, he was confined in the hospital and did not forget the murderer.

I remembered a piece of news I saw in the newspaper before, about the crop circle. A female researcher devoted herself to researching the true picture of the crop circle. She lived alone in a small house near the crop field for decades, and she never knew who created this miracle until she died. Today, many years later, we know that it can be done manually with very simple cooperation, requiring only simple calculations and tool cooperation. Today, more artificial crop circles have been created in an organized manner. They are no longer an unsolved mystery, but a scenic line of tourism.

The truth is left to future generations to answer!

The name of attraction made me download this movie, but the plot disappointed me a little bit. How did he know the killer and the heroine when he attracted investment because of psychological medical treatment. Very strange, I don't know what his motive for killing was? Pervert or fun? I don't understand, but the actress's acting skills are okay, and well, it's very suitable to be a family wife. hehe. It was originally given two stars, but now it's better to give three stars.

    A little depressing after watching
