AP: when you're alone, you can make any choice you want, but when someone loves you, you lose that right. I won't give anything away until we have it all. I can't.

LB: Everything is a trade-off, isn't it?

AP: Seems to be.

AP for Alice Paul. LB for Lucy Burns.

Those girls sacrificed everything for this revolution, including their lovers-to-be, their family, their children, everything that a normal woman would have. I don't want to say which is right, and which is wrong, I am not judging, and I don't know the answer. But I know that, someone has to pay,'cause everything is a trade-off.

We all women now live in this beautiful world, it's hard to say that we have everything we should have as men, rights do not mean happiness. Generally speaking, girls seem happy. But all I want to ask is, what are we really fighting for, simply rights or happiness? Do we really need all those rights to live a happy life? And how to use those rights even if we get them? You always know, the back of rights are responsibilities. Do we really have those power to stand all of these now? Are we strong enough to bear all the possibilities and consequences?

I have no idea, really.

I don't have religion, but I do have believes. So, let me keep believing, hope, peace and love . BLESS.

Iron Jawed Angels quotes

  • Mabel Vernon: We are called the Iron Jawed Angels. Is that supposed to be an insult? Oh, and Carrie Catt told the Times that we were no better than anarchists and draft dodgers.

  • Alice Paul: It's warm in here. Can you open a window?

    Matron Herndon: Get to work.

Alice Paul: Can't you see she looks faint? All I ask is that you open a window.

Lucy Burns: Matron, my needle broke. Can I have another?

[Alice takes off her shoe and throws it at the window, breaking it]

Alice Paul: That's better, isn't it?

Matron Herndon: Put her in solitary.
