We all become the people we don't want to be

This is the first Belgian movie I watched, but it feels like a French movie. Looking at the poster and synopsis of this film, I think this film is a children's comedy, it should be used to relax, and the impression is more like an Italian film. After reading this, I found out that this was a completely wrong positioning, although the Zhengtai Lolita in it was all good.

The most prominent part of this film is the editing. It completely disrupts the time sequence, and is not as regular as "Memory Fragments". The time fragments in this film are long or short, jumping at will. Surprisingly, I didn't think this kind of processing seemed messy. The purpose of this treatment is to present the memories of an ordinary life of an old lonely old man in a nursing home. Yes, the childhood is only a part of the film, and the rest are middle-aged and old ages, all scattered and interspersed in every corner of the film. And this scattered editing also constitutes a suspenseful element of the film.

This film is an independent film and also the first work of the film's screenwriter and director. According to the interview attached to the DVD, the theme of the film is "We have all become people we don't want to be". The director relies on inspiration and card records to create, and finally connects them into this movie with inner connections. The elderly Toto looked back on his life in his twilight years. There was not much brilliance. Some memory fragments finally excavated to make up this movie. Toto firmly believed that he was wrong with Alfred, who was next door, in the hospital fire when he was born, and he deeply hated Alfred for taking away his own life, and this hatred has accompanied him throughout his life. He has been mad since he was a child, leaving his father prematurely is an eternal pain in his heart, and his love for his sister seems a bit too much. He was mediocre even after he became an adult, and he didn't know what his ideals and the meaning of survival were. He often fantasizes about himself as a hero in an action movie (the title is "Hero Toto"), killing people invisible... which of these are reality and which are fantasy, and no one knows whether it is true or not. But it is not important. They constitute the memories of such a lonely life. Although ordinary and a little bit small, they are truly touching.

A person who didn't have much to remember in his life, a person who thought that his life had been lost but didn't realize that he was sinking deeper and deeper, finally fulfilled his wish at the end of his life. At this moment, he realized that even if he was another person, his fate would be similar in the end.

Ah, I have to talk about Zhengtai and Loli in this film. This is also the reason why I like the childhood clips in this film the most. It's so natural and cute (looks better than the poster), but the loli in this film is even more brilliant. At the age of eleven or twelve, he was quite amorous, bold and vicious, and became a cowardly idol. In the shower, the stunning dew point deliberately in front of Toto (the audience can also see it), the dumbfounded Toto only jumped out a sentence "I... I don't know you have breasts." Since then, the fruit is buried. For those who like this, the obvious excessive ambiguity between the siblings is another highlight of the film, and that section is indeed very loving. The image of the sister and the admiration for her sister have also become Toto's emotional knot throughout his life.

On the surface, the poor confuse the rich, but in essence, the rich confuse the poor—playwrights are bourgeois. The real poor take care of their children every day, and they are so busy that they are too busy to touch the ground. How can they be obsessed with others?
