Capricorn

Recently I was reading "Inner Sky", an astrology book. Just finished watching the "Miyamoto Musashi" trilogy. I suddenly found that Musashi Miyamoto is very close to the characteristics of the "Capricorn" explained in the book, which can be said to be a typical case. Of course, my focus is by no means a textual research: Therefore, it can be assumed that the sun or many planets in Miyamoto Musashi's chart are in Capricorn. Such a popular fortune telling is almost boring and vulgar. What's more, the movie has already done a great deal of artistic processing and fiction on the characters.
Growth actually tells us one thing: People have too many choices, not too few. Too many goals result in wasted energy and scattered willpower. As we grow up, we are not pursuing more, but pursuing further, and gradually let go of the prejudices and obsessions of the past. "Once we make a choice, nothing can stop us. it".
The task of Miyamoto Musashi's life is to let go. Making meritorious deeds is the wish of all samurai, but destiny often makes people "stealing chickens and loosing rice". Not only is it useless in an overwhelming battle, it also ends up being wanted. Even if the samurai is not afraid of death, it is often because he voluntarily died before his fear triumphed over honor, but when fate takes away the honor, who wants to die like a joke. Fleeing means making the psychological preparations to be enemies of the world, and you will live and die. Musashi, who wanted to return home in good shape, was wanted by the villagers and no relatives recognized him. He survived the catastrophe, and was saved by Master Ze'an, locked in the Tianshou Pavilion, accompanied by loneliness and books. It is the first step for spiritual practice. Most of the first step was forced, and the military exploits were not achieved, and the romance of elopement with the beloved woman was nothing but life. But finally, the three inches of energy are used in a thousand ways, and there is still a long way to go. "Capricorn must be a person who is good at being alone."
After the "retreat", Musashi seemed to have lost the naivety and recklessness of the past. Standing at the top of the bridge is a determined swordsman. Between practice and love, he struggled to choose the former, but the focus was not on struggling, but on choosing. Engraved "Sorry" and "I will be back" on the railings of the bridge disappeared. Only the back of Ah Tong was waiting for the unknown. "Capricorn can love and be loved. This will not go against his strategy, he just has to avoid needing another person."
Musashi, who has become famous all over the world, continues his road of challenge, and his goal is to become stronger. Even if you like this character again, you can see that he fights and kills just to become "No. 1 in the world". It is unavoidable that it will be greatly compromised (Oda is smart because his character can't die whether he is cut, smashed, smashed, burned, flooded, or bombed. Unless the plot requires it), fortunately, the director and my hero have seen the same, and sent the high monk to point out his shortcomings: "Your problem is that you are too strong. You can't be a real samurai with pure brute force." The basic principle is people. They are all going to be old. When you are no longer as strong as you are today, the ending waiting for you is him and him under your knife. "Swordsmanship is a kind of qi." If it is qi, you can't vent at will. You must know how to be self-control and humble, rather than relying on a little talent and effort to kill people everywhere to promote yourself. Knowing that it is a trap, I still go to the appointment for the honor of the samurai, and learning to escape is the wisdom to see the sad side of the samurai honor. In the end, the defeated Yoshioka was not killed. Finally, Musashi escaped from the samurai's yoke, bondage and trap, and experienced a deeper and broader life value.
However, our director did not allow Musashi to be proud of his love scene at the same time. The moment his desire broke through his self-control, he was rejected by Ah Tong. This is strange. The person who has been thinking about it, the person who has been waiting for three years, expresses his love with deeds because of slurred speech, why can't let go of acting more than Musashi. It hurts too much self-esteem. Musashi, who has left, does not ban text and declares on the screen: "I have cut off the affair of my children." However, the reason for Atong’s refusal is still well documented. It was Zhu Shi who couldn't cross her heart. Who made it so unlucky, just to see Zhu Shi holding Musashi. Perhaps it was because Musashi saw through the nature of love's inevitable possession that he decided not to take the road of selfish love between children, at least there are no such annoying things on the road of practice. "Capricorn's true behavior always reflects his intentions, not his emotions."
Musashi, who lived a stable life without contention, has learned to apologize, not cause trouble, and be kind to others. Humility may dull the edge of his sword, but it truly blends the sword aura with the person himself. The real master is hidden. At this time, Musashi became cute, even though he became more abstinent. He sent the corpses of four disciples who died in a duel back to a certain dojo, but they were not recognized by the master. Musashi, who had long seen that the samurai loves face and was inhumane, buried them in Buddhism. After receiving Sasaki Kojiro's invitation to a duel, Musashi accepted, but hoped to postpone it for another year because he still had something he wanted to do. Musashi, who has always hated farming, began to plant and plow. He put aside all the pretentiousness and fame about the samurai, and kept the soul of justice of the samurai in his heart. Despite the price paid, he finally defeated the bandits who invaded the village. Zhu Shi is dead, and Atong, as she said, Musashi still didn't forgive her. You must know that when Musashi said to Atong that he was sorry for her, it was actually the cruelest way to do to Atong. Doesn't the moment of apologizing for the impulse of love mean that the past of love has been written off? And in the way of giving, there is actually no reason for the other party to beat you-I deeply apologize for this, but I was reckless. What does Atong think? What can she think? I rejected him at that time? But this trick is amazing. As long as love still exists, letting go is the cruelest punishment. The tragedy of love is hidden in its seeds. It is a lucky thing to find a suitable land and grow beautifully and smoothly. However, this leaky happiness is something that cannot be expected, and it is not taken by practitioners.
The Yanliu Island battle with Sasaki Kojiro is coming. Both know that this is almost a 50-50 life and death game, and neither of them is afraid of death, because fear is their first opponent, who is afraid of who will die. Only the woman behind the two learned to see off with tears and smiles. There must be one person who wants to lose her lover and prays for him (I hope that the other person will die). When the boatman saw Musashi coming back alive, he couldn't speak happily, but Musashi couldn't help but shed tears. The last scene of this film is Musashi's first cry. Sasaki Kojiro fell on the ground with a smile...
"When you were a boy, you thought a magician was a person who could do anything. I used to be like this, and we all used to be like this. When a person is truly powerful As his knowledge continues to grow, his path will become narrower and narrower: until in the end he no longer chooses, but just does what he has to do.” (Usula Le Guin)
This is growth, and it is also a "curse." Life is like this.

The adaptation from the novel of the same name is also honest. When I read the novel, I felt that a wild character like Musashi was not Toshiro Mifune. Fan in the novel.

It gives me the impression that the filming is very international, and it seems to be filmed from the perspective of foreigners' preferences in order to win awards, and it has lost its Japanese characteristics. In addition, after reading the original novel, I feel that the power of words is really powerful. In the scene where Musashi left Atong on the bridge, the artistic conception of just a few lines of words could not be photographed...

Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto quotes

  • Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): Why are you here?

    Takuan Osho: To capture you.

[Takezo gives Takuan and Otsu a look of betrayal]

Takuan Osho: If you surrender to a Buddhist priest, consideration shall be given to you.

    Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): Never!

Takuan Osho: My boy, do you think you can win?

    Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): [stoutly] Yes.

Takuan Osho: Are you trying to defeat yourself, too?

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): I don't mind dying in a good fight. But before I die, I will have some blood!

Takuan Osho: What about your relatives? They're prisoners on your account.

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): What relatives? They all hate me!

    Takuan Osho: Some are suffering.

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): Hang them all! Better off dead, all of them!

    Takuan Osho: Even the women?

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): [close to tears] Quiet!

    Takuan Osho: And their children?

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): I don't care! Let all of them...

[Takezo starts sobbing. Takuan gets up, grabs him by the back of his collar with one hand and beats him with the other]

Takuan Osho: Fool! Wild fool! I shall punish you, with the hand of your parents!

  • [Takuan leads Takezo to a stairway in Himeji castle leading to an attic, where Otsu is supposedly waiting. Takezo gives Takuan a look of verification, and sees Takuan's encouraging expression. Takezo rushes up to the attic to look for Otsu, but she's not there. Takuan shuts the door to the attic. Takezo rushes to the door and pounds on it]

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): Takuan! Priest Takuan!

Takuan Osho: She is safely sheltered near Hanada bridge.

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): Damn you! You dirty lying rogue!

[In a panic, Takezo rushes to the window. Outside there is nothing but lofty shingled roofs. He would break his neck trying to climb out. He pulls on the thick wooden window bars but they won't come loose. Takezo rushes back to the door, pounds on it and tries to pull it open]

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): Open up! Open the door!

Takuan Osho: Takezo. This room is yours for some time. Otsu will wait.

Musashi Miyamoto (Takezo): You're lying. She's alone!

Takuan Osho: She will wait. In those books are many of the things you need. After you master them, I will see you again. Farewell.

[Takezo sinks to a sitting position, then collapses to the floor and cries uncontrollably]
