City of No Owners.
The film has no protagonist.
If there is one, it is a residential construction plan called the city of god in the 1960s to resettle the poor. In the early 1980s, this area became the most dangerous zone in Rio de Janeiro.
The narrator is a person named Rocket.
Violence, blood, drugs, greed, embezzlement, betrayal. Almost all the ugliness is undoubtedly exposed.

The red-tiled houses looked so orderly. However, under this neat shell is unexpected darkness.
Robbery, looting, gunfights, fights, desires.

The city of God, lost by God, lost its patron saint.
It feels like Pandora has opened a magic box.
The gun is like a daily necessities here. The sound of two gunshots is not surprising at all.
The children here are sensitive and fragile. I am immersed in sin every day, and I am increasingly immersed in the killing. Even the eyes are bitter.
Can't see the innocent smiling face, can't see the innocence that should be, let alone the innocence.
But you can see.
A child who was just over ten years old, holding a gun, smiling, calm and composed, pulled the trigger at others, and then laughed. You can see in his eyes, it's like hell fire is burning. He was so open and despised, that life that seemed worthless.

Life licked and swelled the bloody air.
The girlfriend saw her boyfriend being shot to death, but she could only cry.

There are no bloody shots in the film, but you can feel the blood flowing horizontally and continuously, filling the entire screen all the time.
cruel. Very dazzling.
You can see it too.

Want to escape. But there is nowhere to escape.
The film is full of ugliness, but the soundtrack has always been extremely easy.
Against the strong background. The grief spread. Like the tears of God.
The film was only halfway through, and I remembered the dialogue.
"Why do you live in this heavenly city abandoned by God?" I
suddenly remembered the sentence: Eli, eli, lema Sabachthani. God, God, why did you abandon me?
