The power of silence

I appreciate Russell Crowe more and more. When the Gladiator first came out, he thought how could the director find a handsome actor to play. Why don't you find the big handsome guy Brappett or Zemel Gibson to play. By chance, I saw Beautiful Mind and felt that his acting skills were really good. His appearance was so different from the role he was portraying, but he still deduce the essence of the role. Then I turned out several of his classic movies, Iron Fist Man, Los Angeles Confidential, and of course Gladiator. I realized that I didn't know how to appreciate at that time.
Russell Crowe interprets the man's majesty, spirit, sadness, silence, responsibility, and is simply superb. Compared with Chloe, Pete felt like posing in an idol drama. Braveheart, Mel Gibson played very affectionate, but also very tragic, the picture is also very beautiful, it is a very good film. When I was in college, looking at Braveheart, I felt that the tragic heroic image portrayed by Mel Gibson could hardly be surpassed. In the gladiator, Russell Crowe mastered the man's silence, the power from the heart in silence, and the feeling of power erupting in silence.
Bowing his head silently, his eyes piercing his soul, and quietly brewing strength and wisdom is what a man should do.

Gladiator quotes

  • Commodus: [to Falco] Lucius will stay with me now. And if his mother so much as looks at me in a manner that displeases me, he will die. If she decides to be noble and takes her own life, he will die.

    [to Lucilla]

Commodus: And as for you, you will love me as I loved you. You will provide me with an heir of pure blood, so that Commodus and his progeny will rule for a thousand years. Am I not merciful?

    [Lucilla turns her head]

    Commodus: AM I NOT MERCIFUL!

  • Commodus: If you're very good, tomorrow night I'll tell you the story of emperor Claudius who was betrayed by those closest to him, by his own blood. They whispered in dark corners and went out late at night and conspired and conspired but the emperor Claudius knew they were up to something. He knew they were busy little bees. And one night he sat down with one of them and he looked at her and he said, "Tell me what you've been doing busy little bee or I shall strike down those dearest to you. You shall watch as I bathe in their blood." And the emperor was heartbroken. The little bee had wounded him more deeply than anyone else could ever have done. And what do you think happened then, Lucius?

Lucius Verus: I don't know, uncle.

Commodus: The little bee told him everything.
