The struggle between gods and heroes

I stayed up late yesterday and finished watching "Troy". I originally wanted to learn more about Greek mythology and Western civilization through this, but it was still not the same as expected. The hard knowledge did not change much, except that I remembered Achilles further. And Hertok. But the most touching aspect is the soft aspect:
first, the awe of the gods headed by Zeus in the Greek civilization-this is still more difficult for the Chinese to imagine.
Second, a further understanding of the gods and heroes in Greek mythology-what is a god and what is a hero.
Contrary to my own expectations, Achilles and Hertok, as heroes, have never shown the ability to illusion, although it is clear that Achilles, as the son of the goddess of the earth, can stand on the ground with inexhaustible combat power. , His death was just like an accidental plot design, when the second prince of Troy, Paris, was shot in the heel "very casually". Moreover, the war girls Athena, Poseidon, the sun god Apollo, the god Hera, etc. who participated in the Battle of Troy introduced in Homer’s epic have never really appeared, and even I haven’t seen any. The traces of the gods influenced the success or failure of the entire war, even though the king of Troy repeatedly stated that "everything is the will of God."
This kind of conflict is in fact a kind of suspense and suspension, forcing us to ask: Is it God (Athena, Poseidon, Apollo, etc.) that dominates the war, or is it the hero of mankind (Achilles, Hull, etc.)? Trafigura, Paris, etc.) dominate the war? If we regard war as an abstract symbol of the development of human civilization and history as presupposed by the director, the “war” in the above question should be replaced with “human civilization” or “human history” as it is intended, the whole film’s understanding Will it reach a whole new level-God dominates everything or as a hero of mankind? Even if we develop along this line of thinking, it must be deduced that Achilles and Hertok as heroes must be practitioners, rebels and even victims of human freedom. Whether they are rebels or unnecessary victims depends on whether they are rebels or unnecessary victims. The audience's own transcendental interpretation of the text.
In the plot, Achilles always responded with contempt to the gods feared by the Trojans. After the successful beach landing at the beginning of Troy, he even personally cut off the head of the guardian beast of the sun god Apollo temple. On the surface of his disdain-at the same time, the great prince of Troy Hertok also said at least two or three times in the film "disrespect" to Apollo, Apollo did not send a soldier to participate in the Trojan War-Apollo just It's just a symbol, idol, and avatar. I think the words behind the zigzag sign must be something Hertok wanted to say but never said. In any case, the two heroes in the movie have seemingly unrelated designs in the plot. In my opinion, they actually express a certain intention of the director, that is, the recognition of human freedom, the denial of divine power, and finally The death of Achilles and Hertok may be a reflection of the director or even another suspense: whether people (Achilles and Hertok) really control their own destiny, whether it is Zeus, or not. The destiny of Athena and Apollo is destined to make them fall. Who will determine the fate of Troy?
I dare not go down and guess what the answer to the above question is. This is also the huge difference between art films and philosophical thinking. Movies often don’t give great answers. They just give vague clues. Really The answer is given to each viewer.

with Chris Ouyang Shaohan; I thought it was just a dumb brute war action drama, but I found that there are still a lot of meaningful dialogues (the living descendants remember/fight; Gods envy you). Menelaus is Baoqiang, married to a beautiful wife and The handsome guy ran away. The elf prince looks like a 15-year-old boy who is already 27. It’s a pity that he is a bear child, but he is protected by God. I found that I have seen many Diane Kruger movies, but I don’t remember it at all. I don’t feel like a person...

Troy quotes

  • Priam: [to Achilles about Hector] I loved my boy from the moment he opened his eyes until the moment you closed them.

  • Messenger Boy: Are the stories true? They say your mother was an immortal godess. They say you can't be killed.

Achilles: I wouldn't be bothering with the shield then, would I?

Messenger Boy: The Thesselonian you're fighting... he's the biggest man i've ever seen. I wouldn't want to fight him.

Achilles: Thats why no-one will remember your name.
