Look at the Shining again. .

The Shining, a film adapted from the novel of Stephen King (the king of horror novels in the world). Today I took it out and looked at it again. After reading Stephen King’s original work, I have a deeper understanding of this piece. Stephen King protested against Kubrick's "unrecognizable" adaptation of this novel. It is not so much a Stephen King movie as it is that Kubrick's products are more appropriate. But movies and novels still have a close and inseparable connection. Stephen King is good at describing the atmosphere. The atmosphere of depression, horror, and breathlessness is brought out by the external scenery, language, characters, etc. Kubrick conveyed this very well. In the movie, Nicholson's full of tension performance, the signs that Danny's shining sees, the weird dubbing, and those stunning long shots all exist for the purpose of setting off the atmosphere. The biggest difference between the novel and the movie is the death of Haroun at the end. In the original book, Halloran did not die, but was wounded by Jack, and then took Wendy and her mother to escape Yuanwang Hotel, and the evil hotel also disappeared with the flames in the explosion of the boiler. The hotel is the biggest BOSS in the original book. He was given vitality by the author Stephen King. The hotel has become a living thing at this time. It controls the people who die in the hotel, and it can affect those who have the Shining. In the movie, Jack’s madness seems to have become his own internal cause, rather than the control of the hotel. I think this is the biggest difference between the original book and the movie. Let's talk about the characters, Jack Nicholson, this great actor, especially the expressive power of strange characters is even more amazing. He seems to be an actor who exists exclusively for playing weird people. Jack Torrance (they are called JACK = = ), the tragic character in this novel, he was depressed all his life, and the once good life was ruined by his alcoholism, and he broke Danny's arm (mentioned in the movie) and dripped alcohol from then on No, this is not only for himself, but also for that marriage, for his beloved son. In the original book, Jack’s love for his son is extremely deep, which is not very obvious in the movie. But we can still find out (Jack also said in the movie that his son is more important than the whole world). It is precisely because of this love that when Jack was finally controlled by the evil power of the hotel, he still lay on the ground and said to Danny: Run, Danny. (This is the plot in the original book). In the movie, Jack becomes a bloodthirsty lunatic, chasing his wife and children with an axe, killing Haroren who came to rescue. Kubrick's grasp of the original work is naturally much better than mine. His adaptation of the original book did not make the movie fall into cliche. Coupled with the amazing acting skills of the actors, Kubrick's reflection of the atmosphere, those long shots that have to be mentioned, as Danny's tricycle travels through the depressive, cold space of the far-sighted hotel. This shining shines with great light because of Kubrick. Well, in the end I have to admit that the heroine has such a "little" element of horror, but her acting skills are undeniable, whether it is the wife who cares about her husband, the wife who is quiet under her husband's majesty, or for Danny A mother who can give her life, she has done an excellent performance. Also, Danny is so cute. Well, all that should be said is over. So be it.

The story of a Ph.D. who stayed at home but couldn't write a dissertation and the family members of his victims during the dissertation tells us that the harm of doing academia is social and the correct way to do it is to have fun every day and stop writing! The effect, music and sound effects of the film are indispensable, especially the endless lontano in the opening of Ligeti, coupled with the most incredible flying shot of the whole leather (how to shoot this kind of paragraph in the era of no drones) The bicycle Steadicam in the middle is also very good. Wonderfully turning the main body of the hotel into a perspective. Room 237, which is saluted by Player No. 1, is like a psychoanalytic ammunition depot, which can be continuously developed. The confidence of the votes together constitute the tone of Ku Lao's sarcasm, which continues until the last zoom-in freeze-frame maze like a tribute to the Snow wavelength. Danny ran out of the maze, got rid of Jack, and immediately returned to normal. It can be seen that the thesis is the source of driving people crazy. Please stay away from cherishing life.

The Shining quotes

  • Jack Torrance: The most terrible nightmare I ever had. It's the most horrible dream I ever had.

Wendy Torrance: It's okay, it's okay now. Really.

Jack Torrance: I dreamed that I, that I killed you and Danny. But I didn't just kill ya. I cut you up in little pieces. Oh my God. I must be losing my mind.

  • Jack Torrance: [disappointed at finding the bar empty] God, I'd give anything for a drink. I'd give my goddamned soul for just a glass of beer.
