This movie shouldn’t just tell a story like a GTA game. It has a dark line, buried behind the action movie elements that are popular with robbery, long legs, gangsters, etc.; this dark line tells indistinctly There is another story, the growth story of a Baby who had an incomplete childhood and couldn't get out of Neverland, and the three fathers he met on the road of growth...

This movie has at least three advantages;

The first is the director’s style. Edgar Wright’s films have a strong sense of form; the so-called “form” refers to the part that can be directly perceived by the audience, and things that are easily perceived are easy to produce a clear tendency. Point of view, so as mentioned in the top film reviews, the overall rating of Wright's films after precipitation is generally not too high. For me, Wright’s “formalism” is a very interesting style. This movie still continues his style, so this is the first advantage. I won’t go into details. There are many descriptions in the front row of film reviews. ;

The second advantage is also obvious, it is the music; the music is nice, and it works well with the big scenes and small bridges, and I won’t go into details. The song list is available, and everyone has discussed a lot;

The last advantage, I think it is a script; this point is worth writing a few more words...

Many friends who don’t like this movie complain that the plot is inexplicable (maybe some local directors did not handle it properly in order to show that they are different from ordinary people), and some friends who like this movie compare and contrast it with some action movies ( Indeed, the drag racing action scene in this film is also one of the highlights);

But after I watched it, I got another impression. I think this movie shouldn’t just tell a story like a GTA game. It has a dark thread, buried in stolen cars, beautiful women’s legs, gangsters, etc. Behind the action movie elements;

This dark line tells another story indistinctly, the growth story of a Baby whose childhood was incomplete and couldn't get out of Neverland, and the three fathers he met on the road of growth...

The first father in the story is of course Baby’s real father. The film intermittently tells Baby’s impression of this father through a series of reminiscence scenes. From this we can see that his parents have given him happy times, but also see his parents. The conflict broke out, and Baby’s attachment to the singer’s mother, and finally we saw that the parents’ quarrel led to the car accident tragedy... These memories are actually only three episodes, but the audience can get a lot of information. We know that Baby was killed after the car accident. After tinnitus, I also know that his love of music is influenced by his mother. But we can continue to speculate that maybe Baby is good at drag racing because of the impact of this car accident, maybe he likes to listen to music madly not only to cover up ear disease (there are many times in the film where you take off the headphones and talk normally), but In order to obtain the surviving comfort of his mother from music (or a memorial to his mother), perhaps his impression of his father is mostly negative (at least it lacks a positive influence)...

The second father in the story is the sign language wheelchair "Morgan Freeman". There are many question marks between this adoptive father and Baby. Why is the adoptive father a black person who cannot speak? How did he obtain Baby's custody? What is occupation? Did he always follow the rules, or did he learn to behave after he suffered a lot from mixed society in his early years? How did Baby learn such supercar skills under his care? Did he teach it, or did he secretly learn it with lax discipline? … In the second half of the film, Baby sent him to a nursing home. He was grateful to him and understood very well. However, even though he seemed to be so affectionate and faced with so many questions that need to be explained at the same time, the film did not have any memory clips to tell. Is the story between the audience Baby and the adoptive father only limited by space? It is more likely that the director wanted to tell the audience that this adoptive father was not as important as the other two fathers in the growth of Baby; sometimes it was like this, harmonious and grateful, but he did not get the influence that can affect life from his father. ...

The third father in the story...I don’t know how many people would agree...It is Shimogi Shipai who manipulates Baby to commit crimes; we know from the main story that Baby started to help Shipai because he paid off debts. West racing, and after the debt was paid off, he was intimidated by him to join the group and resume the old business. From this point of view, Spacey was really the worst character in the film and the most suitable character to be the villain; however, the director did not make such an arrangement. The final history of the film Not only did Passy fail to become the final boss, he even helped the protagonist (the most intense plot to complain about). Why? ...The film also lacks memory clips to explain this important question, but the director has given a lot of groundwork for this: Spacey is very suspicious of project members and rarely uses the same person in succession, but always looks for it every time. Baby came to take on the heavy responsibility. When Jamie Fox spoke rudely to Baby, it was also Uncle Spacey who gave Baby a chance to perform and cast his trustful (and applauding) eyes. Spacey asked Baby to take his nephew to visit the project site. , The nephew treats Baby like his family. Spacey also smiled and said that his family are all thieves... After Baby was brought back after failing to escape, Spacey was very angry and said that he would abandon Baby in accordance with the principles, but then Baby Instead, he jumped up uncharacteristically and insisted on racing to the end (of course, from the perspective of the main story, worrying about the safety of individuals, family members and lovers is definitely the primary motivation)...

The two fathers before Baby are "incomplete" for his personal growth. What he lacks is the most important process of rebellion, confrontation and reconciliation in adolescence. The relationship between Spacey and Baby is a metaphor. After such a growth experience...a teenager, his arbitrary father arranged his life, and his heart was full of reluctance. He wanted to resist but he couldn’t or dared to do it. After the contradiction between father and son intensified, the boy understood his father a little bit, and even found that he still hoped to be recognized by his father to some extent... The arbitrary father of Shi Paixi understood and let go at the end of the story (regardless of Whether it is forced by the situation), and then there is that seemingly unreasonable reversal plot (but the plot of self-sacrifice is a bit too much)...

The roles of the other people in the Spacey project team are actually the same as those in the Hollywood campus movie... The muscular man and the star of the rugby football team Jamie Fox, who loves to bully people at school, who will kill you? Who, in the end, was defeated by the very strong but forbearing Luthor boy pretending to be inadvertently, and the seemingly good guy, with a cheerleader girlfriend, and the uncle Hammer who understands Luthor's protagonist, finally pulled off the hypocritical mask and turned back. Become a villain...

Therefore, the story between Baby and his third father, Spacey, completes his growth process, allowing him to walk out of the Baby state and become a responsible adult (accidentally arrested);

From then on, Baby is no longer Baby, we know his real name at the end of the film.
