The Island. What an awesome awesome movie! It ran a little long (~130 minutes), but everything else is perfect. The first half of the movie is more sci-fi/suspense, and the second half of the movie is action action action.

So, the movie starts off with a big group of people who lives in a sterilized facility. They've been told that the world's atmosphere has been contaminated, and they were the few lucky ones who survived(The two main characters Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson are among the survivors). These people must live in this facility and obey the rules until they win the lottery. The lottery prize is a one way ticket to the ISLAND, the one place on earth where it's still non-contaminated. It's described as the ultimate paradise, so everyone wants to win the lottery. Then one day, of course, they found out that things are not what it seems at all.

I love how the story was being set up at the beginning, where we don't really know what's going on. Then as the truth started to come out, wow, it's a LOT of running, chasing, car crashes, and explosions. All the action sequences in this movie are amazing; I was literally at the edge of my seat the entire time. OK so there are a few things in the story that doesn't make sense, but everything else makes up for them. The acting was just ok, but with this kind of action movie, acting doesn't really matter, right?

In case you still haven't noticed, I really really enjoyed this film. I just can't believe that it didn't make much money in the box office; WB should fire its marketing team! Anyways, everybody should go see it.... Trust me, it's way way better than that so called #1 movie, "Fantastic Four". :)

It's beautiful, and the goddess is also beautiful in it. But the ending is very strange, and I didn't explain it clearly. Should clones be directly integrated into human society, or should they be left to fend for themselves? I guess the director wanted the whole second part

The intention is still about the immorality of human cloning and the violation of ethics. But too many actions conceal too much real meaning. In addition, the sky full of ultra-modern American cars inside makes people think of the possibility of advocating science. Why do we need to clone humans, and continue to pursue technology and touch the bottom line of human ethics? Isn't it because the excessive pursuit of science leads to the lack of human emotions? It is also mentioned in the film that in order to survive, human beings can
