face death

What impresses me most about this film is that it seems bland, but it expresses its view of death on life with seriousness and detail.

Death is something we have all pondered for a long time, how exactly should we think about it?
This is a problem that we must encounter and often encounter.
My friend's mother was terminally ill, and she read a book called Facing Death.
On the day her mother passed away, adjust her mood according to the book, remove all the people present, wash her body and change clothes firmly for her mother.
Surprisingly strong.
Looking back, she said to me: In fact, I still can't face it, I still can't control my tears. . .

Regarding death, some people exaggerate it, trying to make it tragic; some people try to downplay it, thinking that people will not die. We are often deceived. I lost my father when I was young, and some people say he went on a business trip. I really believed at the time, and it wasn't sad. Later, not only did the sadness not decrease because of that deception, but instead expanded and spread in my life. So, I often think: what is death?

With a delicate narrative technique, the director of "August Photo Studio" succeeds in expressing to us what death really feels like to the deceased himself and to those around him.
The structure of the film seems to be lazy, but it is actually to leave room for us to seriously think about life.
It tells you that when the real death comes, the wind and the sun are the same, there is no loud noise, but there is one less of the billions of people on this earth. It also tells you that when you are about to die, not everyone will be at your feet praying for God's sympathy. If you try to exchange pain for sympathy, it will only be like inserting a knife in the person who loves you, adding a pinch of salt to the pain, and choosing to die like this, you will get more than sympathy but a sense of relief.

Love is equal, and the dying person in the film does not play a person waiting for love. He plays a man who loves optimism in life. After a huge struggle in his heart, he chose not to leave even a little sadness to the girl he loves.
He used his death to say one thing to all the living: it is wonderful to live!
Greatness in the ordinary is just like that!

According to the laws of nature, the death of any human being is actually trivial. It saddens those who love him for a while at most. Then we still have to live, live with the love of life, and face the next death. The scene described in the film is lonely and flat, but it is so close to us that it makes you feel that life is really like this, and death is also like this. For example, let's take a dignified portrait tomorrow too.

Christmas in August quotes

  • Jung-won: [Sitting on a rubber tire in his old school playground] When I was a kid I always sat alone in the playground after the other boys had gone. Thinking about my late mother, it struck me that we'd all disappear in the end... my father, my sister, all my best friends.

  • [last lines]

Jung-won: [narrating] I always knew that feelings of love would fade - just like old photographs. But for you... you will always remain in my heart, as you are in my last moment. Thank you, and goodbye.
