How did we evolve into who we are today?
Nature and nurture, which part has more influence on our growth?
There is a real story behind the answer to the question, a real story that is terrifying.
In 1980, 19-year-old Bobby Chafran drove alone to Sullivan Community College.
He's just an ordinary freshman, and he hasn't done much. The people in the school treated him very warmly, as if he was just an old friend whom he hadn't seen in a summer vacation. Bobby had never been to his new school, and he was baffled by it until someone called him by his first name: Eddie .
Born on the same day, same month, same year, Bobby and Eddie are from adoptive families, and they have the exact same appearance.
This is a pair of long-lost twin brothers.
After the story of the twins' accidental meeting was reported by the New York Post, another person who looked exactly like them, David , appeared.
The truth of the matter goes back 19 years. On July 12, 1961, triplets were born at Long Island Jewish Hospital, and were then taken by the Lewis Wise Adoption Agency and sent to three different families.
They like the same color, smoke the same brand of cigarettes, and like the same type of girls.
Even more coincidentally, they both have an adopted sister who is also 21 years old.
The triplets appeared on all the popular media shows of the day and became smash hit celebrities.
Things seem to just happen naturally.
The three brothers are the focus of the media wherever they go, and they even starred in a movie.
The three brothers also opened a restaurant together, called "triplets".
In the first year, the turnover exceeded $1 million.
However, the story is not as happy as it seems on the surface, and things start to develop in an immeasurable direction.
The triplets were sent to three completely different families to grow up.
Bobby's father is a doctor and his mother is a lawyer, and the family lives in a wealthy area.
Eddie's father was a teacher and the family lived in a middle-class neighborhood.
David's family is the least educated, they are an immigrant family, their native language is not English, and they run a small shop.
None of the three adoptive families were told their child had two other brothers, and they all wanted to figure out why they weren't given the right to know.
Lewis Wise Adoption Agency said that because the probability of the triplets being adopted by the same family at the same time is too small, they had to choose to separate them.
But the three pairs of adoptive parents were clearly not satisfied with the answer. They negotiated multiple lawyers in New York, but were told they could not accept the appointment.
Is there any secret behind it?
This is not a conspiracy theory, this is really a "conspiracy".
Journalist and author Lawrence Wright has been studying the case of separate twins since the 1990s when he stumbled across a scientific article about a secret scientific experiment that separates identical siblings.
The babies were all from the Lewis Wise Adoption Agency.
The triplets are actually guinea pigs in the laboratory. They are watched by eyes hidden in the dark, monitoring all the data. They didn't know the truth until the whole incident was published.
At this time, the three brothers recalled that when they were children, someone came to their home to give them tests, ask questions, and make video recordings. The Lewis Wise Adoption Agency told adopting families from the very beginning that they would track the growth of these children, but did not tell them about the existence of the other two children and the real use of their tracking data - by eliminating the problem of the difference between nature and nurture Study human growth.
Not just the three brothers, but other children as well. No one is sure exactly how many hands and feet were ultimately forced to separate in this study.
The research was kept in the dark from beginning to end, and it was never published.
The other twins also found each other after the Lawrence Wright report was published.
They also share strikingly similar experiences.
These identical siblings, who were forced to separate, were supposed to be strangers, but they seemed to have grown into replicants.
With the occurrence of subsequent incidents and in-depth research, many of these experimented children were found to have mental problems. Their parents were also confirmed to have suffered from mental illness. The adoptive families were not told this information.
Did these scientists deliberately select babies with genes for mental problems and place them in different families to see the heritability of mental illness?
Bobby quits the triplets restaurant business.
Eddie exhibited pronounced manic depression, and he committed suicide.
This wasn't the only suicide among the identical siblings who were separated in the experiment.
Is their tragedy because of the scientific experiment of that self?
Is it the influence of the family, or is it force majeure in the genes?
The truth of the matter, what is it?
What did the results of the study prove?
Dr. Neubauer, the scientist who initiated the study, sent 66 boxes of materials to Yale University for storage before his death.
These records are classified until 2066.
The documentary "Twin Stranger" tells this amazing story.
From the beauty of the unexpected encounter of the triplets, to the discovery of the conspiracy behind it, to the final tragedy, it is a big game.
Those "coincidences", those "conspiracies", and those "designs" are all beyond the bottom line of human relations you can imagine.
These children were carefully selected, placed in different families, recorded and observed.
The researchers clearly know each parent's parenting style, and they are confirming whether the future of these children is in line with their own expectations.
Adoptive sisters of the same age for the triplets were even part of the experimental design.
This is like a real-life version of "The Truman World".
The researchers arranged this group of actors into their own scripts, and the endings that should have been determined by different people's lives have also undergone earth-shaking changes under such precise control.
What proportion do nature and nurture play in influencing human growth?
The facts presented in the film allowed Barbie and David to research records after filming was completed. Sadly, the study was inconclusive. Opened more than a thousand pages of dust-covered information, and we couldn't get an accurate answer.
Human beings are so great and so small that they cannot even control their own lives.
what can we do? Only with no guilt, the cloud is light and the wind is light.
