I like the subtlety like this

It is a masterpiece of Italian neo-realism film. What impresses me is the very natural and real details of the characters in the film. There is no perfect person: the clergy fish in troubled waters, women snatch bread, but they also bravely assist the underground organization to fight, the leaders of the underground organization have a lot of dew Love... The suspenseful and tense atmosphere is well created by using cross montage in the stair search clip; Bina was shot and killed in pursuit of a car, and there is no shot of the shooter, she just fell to the ground instantly with the sound of gunshots, which is very eye-catching; Manfrei Dee was nailed to the wall like a crucified Jesus when he was tortured to extract a confession; the three interrogated people, the deserters who lost their faith, knew their own methods and were so afraid that they hanged themselves, and the priest watched Manfredi tenaciously. The whole process of extorting a confession is the most terrifying. As the most neutral character in war and peace in the travel and western world, the priest became the lead in this film. In the end, he couldn't bear to accuse the fascists of cruelty, but he knelt down and prayed to God for forgiveness because of his evil thoughts; behind the door of the torture room was the fascists. A room for enjoyment; the arrangement of the troubled water, because of emotional problems, Manfredi was reported and arrested by his lover, and the lover was rewarded with a gorgeous costume. Finally, the fascist female officer took back the set after seeing his lover being tortured to death and fainting. Clothes said: I will use it next time; the conversation between the fascist officer and the torture officer is even more memorable... These ironies and some details make the film full of quality, although they say the picture is rough, but I don't feel it at all. At the end of World War II, it is very rare that such a film has actually been prepared with limited resources during the war.

Don Pietro: I am a Catholic priest. I believe that those who fight for justice and truth walk in the path of God and the paths of God are infinite

  • Major Bergman: I've a man who must talk before dawn and a priest who is praying for him. He'll talk

    Hartman: And if not?

    Major Bergman: Ridiculous.

    Hartman: And if not?

Major Bergman: Then it would mean an Italian is worth as much as a German. It would mean there is no difference in the blood of a slave race and a master race. And no reason for this war.
