in memory of our passing age

"Right Now, Wrong Then" is so beautiful, with a long aftertaste. I think even if I go back 20 years ago, I would have liked this type of film when I first started watching literary films, even though I had no life experience at that time, I was just a fool all day long, and it was unexpected. The form would also amaze me. Of course, now that I know all the sadness, I can experience more of the suffering of life that the director wants to express. Like Kim Ki-duk, Hong Sang-soo finds a unique theme, takes the trouble to express it in different ways, and always expresses it so beautifully. It's amazing.

"Right or Wrong" filmed the day of a director of a literary film who participated in the Suwon Film Festival. On this day, he wandered around alone and met a local female painter at the ruins of a tourist attraction. The two talked, had coffee, and went to the female painter. In the studio, we ate dinner together and went to a small gathering of female painter friends. After the film screening was over the next day, the director and female painter separated and went back to their respective homes. It is a dewy love, pure, ambiguous, hesitant to say anything, red face, blurred eyes, happy, lost, come like a spring dream for a short time, go like a cloud of nowhere to be found. Hong Shangxiu's ingenuity lies in the fact that he filmed the day twice. From different angles, the two versions of the same day have similarities and differences. The change of dialogue and the two versions of the story have become two possibilities of life.

In the first paragraph, this relationship was emotional and ceremonial, and ended very harmoniously. The second paragraph is full of sparks and conflicts, and the ups and downs end beautifully. The key to this kind of film lies in the actors, the actors must have very good acting skills, and the second lies in the dialogue. A director who is incapable of control will draw a tiger into a dog. Like the "Before sunrise" series? It's similar, but not as warm and homely. Like a Wong Kar Wai movie? Also quite similar, but more specific than Wong Kar Wai.

For example, in the first paragraph, the director followed the female painter to the studio. She found that the coffee was gone. She said that I don’t drink much, so I don’t know it’s gone. I’ll go to the supermarket to buy it.

Director: No need.

Painter: Let's go buy it.

Director: No need to bother, I can drink whatever I want.

Painter: Really? I'd better go buy it, and buy snacks by the way.

Director: You can do it, I can do it.

Painter: Then you drink green tea.

Director: OK, OK.

This section is a small "Reminiscence of the Years Like Water", "Reminiscence of the Years Like Water" is the reflection of the hearts of the characters in the ordinary scenes of ordinary life.

A good literary film is basically the technique of "Reminiscence of the Time Is Like Water": a swaying reed, a gust of wind, can express personal thoughts in different people's memories and in different situations. These bland dialogues are complemented by the natural and proficient acting skills of the two. If you have enough experience in life, you can understand those thoughts and resonate with the director (author), which is really a very advanced enjoyment. Much better than sound and light.

Also in the studio, the director said different things. In the first paragraph, he said: You are walking a difficult road, you can't see the front, but you have the courage to go on. In the cafe, the female artist said, I will go back to painting in a while, and I want to develop a habit of painting a little every day. The director said, yes, habit is very important, that's good. Then the two talked about when they were young, as long as they had paper and a pen, they were very happy, painters painted, and directors wrote stories. The communication between the painter and the director in this section is very harmonious and full of sweet surprises. Both seemed to have found a soulmate. In the second paragraph, the female painter unceremoniously complimented the director: "You can say the same to every woman. When you went to the studio, the director said that your painting is too self-healing. You can be more generous. Don't be so conservative, but it's okay to be conservative. When people are injured, it is easy to be conservative and return to their familiar territory. The female painter was furious. Why do you tell me this, do your directors like to point fingers at people like this? The director was stunned for a moment, apologized, took out his cigarette, and the female artist said: You are not allowed to smoke in the room. It was possible before, but not now! . The director went out to smoke, and when the door closed, he smirked and muttered: Yes, yes, we like that. Hahaha, this is very dramatic, this dialogue must have been made up on the spot.

In these two paragraphs, the characters of the director and the painter did not deviate too much, which can be described as the multi-faceted nature of one person. The female painter and her literary circle respected the director from beginning to end, but restrained and maintained their position. In the first paragraph, the painter's friend also sent the director's own book. It means that in their view, we are all young literary and artistic people, and we communicate on an equal footing.

In the first paragraph, the female artist suddenly found out that the director was married, and the director cried bitterly at the sushi restaurant in the second paragraph, both performed very well. It's two sides of the story, maybe the second paragraph is the unspoken words of the first paragraph. The same is true of life, a small change will lead the fate of two people to a completely different ending. When you stop and stare at your own life, or you stare at other people's lives in unfamiliar places, all kinds of insights in your life will come one after another, right. As far as you are concerned, they are poems and paintings, and they are your time in the water. Hong Shangxiu likes to explore this very much, even to the point of showing off, but he really does a good job of exploring and showing off well.

In the end, the movie ended in the heavy snow. The words were hesitant to say, and the last hug was a long-lasting aftertaste. The back of the female painter became smaller and smaller in the heavy snow. The ancient city wall stood silently, and I suddenly felt a little I miss the snowy days.
