Those who like (or at least don't hate) julie delpy;
like before sunset/sunrise and have a special love for the dialogue between the two;
the association of the words "Paris, lovers" is not limited to those who are romantic and delicate.

Those who are extremely innocent and cannot tolerate the four letter word and any similar words should be avoided.
On the contrary, if you can accept small exaggerations and dirty jokes, think they are still funny, and don't feel offended, then this film is for you.

Two Days in Paris is a film written, directed and starred by Julie Delpy. Although she also participated in the line arrangement of the before series at that time. But the style of the Two films is almost completely different from the Before series. In a nutshell, 2 days in paris is a comedy. comedy.

This is a comedy, about cultural clash, about certain (might seem overly melodramatic) aspects of France, about views of the world, but most of all, about modern relationship, especially from a female's point of view.

Marion and Jack, A 35-year-old French woman and a 35-year-old American man, a couple, had just returned from a vacation in Venice and stayed at Marion's house in Paris for two days in order to retrieve the cat that Marion asked her mother to take care of. This is how the plot unfolds.

You can see Jack is depressed from start to finish: can't understand the language, has migraines, is overly nervous. Marion's family seemed to him to be a typical French mad family: his father's paintings in the gallery were all strange and unspeakable subjects, and his mother had an affair with Jim Morrison in 1969. The younger sister's job is to take care of mentally ill children, but her own psychological problems are serious enough to be frightening. To paraphrase JAck: She's about to turn a dozen teenagers into serial killers right now! What
he can't bear is that they keep bumping into Marion's ex-boyfriends on various occasions. As for Marion's ex-boyfriends, all forward-thinking artists, they talked to him in broken English, but the content of the conversation was so off-scale that Jack was stunned. Culture clashes are a major source of jokes. JAck felt like he was blind, watching his girlfriend flirt with a taxi driver in French, a firefighter in French, and an ex-boyfriend in French. (Actually, we who read the subtitles know what those scenes are about. Poor JAck.) "Ok, my girlfriend is a slut." he thought. This idea kept brewing and accumulating in his heart. The bad thing was that Jack was not the kind of person who directly poured out the small discomfort. He was holding it back in his heart. You can clearly see on his face that the thought in his heart is: It's over! I'm a big idiot! Played like a monkey by this French bitch! This kind of momentum is a joke and a need for the plot, so we see that he finally broke out. Adam Goldberg did a great job. He's actually very comedic, and I think he looks like a pissed squirrel with his round eyes. He looked at Marion with tears in his eyes and you'd think he really cared about her and loved her.

Marion, of course, is the soul of the film. Throughout the film is her monologue. The advantage of the monologue is that it better explains Marion's psychological activities. The downside is of course the same. Some say her monologue is too deliberate. Is that right? Julie has such a great sense of humour and the words are playful and gleaming with wisdom. Such as opening: "Red, green, yellow, purple, even gray that shines: that's Italy." "We went to Venice because it's a city where lovers go." Half-time: Taking pictures automatically takes you out of "the moment". for our trip in italy, i want to be in the moment with jack, instead of kissing on the Gondola, jack took 42 picures of me on the Gondola..."
Marion is beautiful, icy, passionate, and outspoken. She stands up for what she believes in: yelling at a racist taxi driver, almost fighting in a restaurant in front of the crowd and one of her rambunctious ex-boyfriends (because the man stands for everything she hates, has sex with children). Some people think she is crazy, Jack threatened to send her to the angry management slash rehab institution, however, you have to admit, this is really a very valuable character.

The pace of the story is just right. The plot arrangements are all right. Bowing down is a joke. Such as the wretched men on the subway, such as the pigs in the vegetable market, such as the so-called fairy in the fast food restaurant. Jack sat on the edge of the bed, peeking at Marion's text messages, and desperately flipping through the dictionary in order to find out what was the relationship between Marion and the man named Mattieu. Even the second time I watched it I couldn't help but laugh. By the way, the music at the time was pretty good.

I admire Julie Delpy, she is such a talented woman. She can master the rhythm so well. In fact, comedy is really difficult to shoot compared to romantic love stories, but Julie can do it. Those delicate little dialogues! And the last sentiment about relationship, as a female audience, it's hard not to resonate.

Rarely good work. I would like to give it more than five stars.
That's it, it's better to call it a cult work: if you like it, you can say it's chic and witty, and if you don't like it, you can say it's loose and vulgar.

I guess the question is whether you like the heroine or not.

    Only then did I know that beforesunset is her script, god, so she must watch it by directing and acting. I like her because her authenticity is not contrived, just like before sunset, a lot of dialogue, this time there are more cultural conflicts, all the time , but it is so real. The two quarreled, fell in love, quarreled, exposed their true self, and finally reunited in the eyes

Two Days in Paris quotes

  • Marion: You know why people are attracted to one other? Cos people with very different immune systems are attracted to one other so the offspring, the baby, will have a stronger immune system with the combination of the two immune systems.

    [Jack pretends to snore]

    Marion: Don't snore! It's important!

    Jack: Oh!, No! Yeh! No! I was saying the same thing!

  • Jack: My first religion is private property. Don't trespass. Don't touch my shit.
