As a soldier who retired from the Vietnam War, Rambo not only did not feel the cheers of domestic citizens after returning to China, but encountered a lot of cold words. Of course, this is related to the nature of the Vietnam War itself. In an unjust war like the Vietnam War, it is good to win. If the desired effect is not achieved, then it must be countless soldiers like Rambo who are the most seriously injured in the end. They are full of ideals, follow the call of the country, and think that what they are doing is a just thing, but they don't know that they are just pawns of domestic capital giants and politicians. Still, Rambo maintains the most basic of respect for others when the film begins. He first went back to the home of the last teammate to make up for his unsatisfactory work before, but unexpectedly was told that his teammate had died of cancer. Even so, he still did not give up his life, and gave the photo with his teammates to his teammates' family members. From this, it can be seen that Rambo's humanity has not been worn away by the long-term killing in the war. The average person in the group is more attentive to the feelings and needs of others.
When he first arrived in Hope Town, Rambo still looked harmless to humans and animals, but because of the clothes he was wearing, he revealed his identity as a "Vietnam War Veteran", which aroused the sheriff's disgust and vigilance. From the sheriff sending Rambo out of Hope Town to the end of Rambo's questioning at the police station with the former captain of the beret, it can be regarded as a regular action movie, but it is about the abuse of power by the police and the rigid bureaucracy. The descriptions are still excellent, although some of the action design looks a little clumsy these days.
The most intense climax and conflict in the film is nothing more than Rambo's words in the last few minutes of the film. As he said, "your war has just ended, and our war has just begun." This sentence is ruthless It reveals that daily life at home for Vietnam veterans was more difficult than on the battlefield. Not being able to find a suitable job, being judged by others around them, and the psychological pressure after the war all caused huge damage to their minds. These problems need to be solved urgently by the state.
