both books and movies

"Learn to die, to learn to live."

The book "The Last 14 Tuesday Lessons" recommended today also has a movie of the same name.

Student Mickey sees college teacher Murray again after 16 years. At this time, the teacher's muscles were atrophied and he was close to death. They start a lesson on the meaning of life every Tuesday. Topics include: death, love, fear, and more.

Mr. Murray taught this class with the only life he had left, and the student was Mickey alone.

After reading this book, I believe you will also start to think about those things about life.

I love how the author writes like this, where memory and reality are intertwined. There is no gorgeous language, there are only simple descriptions and sincere emotions.

Murray likes this poem: If you don't love each other, you will die.

Regarding death, he said:

"Every one of us knew we were going to die one day, but no one took it seriously. Otherwise, we wouldn't be. You have to know you're going to die and be ready so that while you're alive, you can Really more involved.

Every day I imagine a little bird standing on my shoulders and asking: Is that today? am i ready? Am I doing everything I can? Do I have a clear conscience?

To learn to die, to learn to live.

This sentence hits our hearts like a heavy hammer. We all think that "death" is far away. This is a taboo word. But in fact, when we truly understand that life is impermanent, we can cherish every day more and be grateful for every day.

Most of us are like sleepwalking, half-awake and half-sleeping, doing things we think we must do. But are these really important? Is it necessary? Or, what is necessary?

It is worth thinking about by each of us.

  • Morrie Schwartz: I passed a landmark. Remember what I said about someday somebody havin' to wipe my ass? I'm there.

Mitch Albom: You're not gonna expect me to do that, are you?

Morrie Schwartz: Why not? You might be good at it.
