Actually no difference

The camera, the soundtrack, the performance, remind the audience all the time that this is drama.

For me, who always watch historical movies with the mentality of watching documentaries, this kind of reminder is extremely friendly. Although I can't help but ask, can this really be the case in history? But with repeated reminders, this doubt was gradually dispelled. So that after reading it, I understood the historical facts, and I was surprised when I found that the plot was consistent with history.

The pacing of the plot is interesting, maybe not original, but novel enough for me to catch the eye.

The characters are extremely vivid and three-dimensional, as if the character profiles are pasted on the forehead, and the relationship between the characters is also very simple, lacking the subtle, complex, attractiveness that needs to be explored and considered.

But this kind of straight ball also ensures the integrity of the story and the fullness of the image to a certain extent. In such a short time, it quickly presents the restraint of various forces at home and abroad, the former harem, the former court, and the harem. . Although each image involved in it has different motives and desires, but without exception, under the surface of seemingly getting what they want, they experience the pain of holding quicksand in their hands.

The Queen, as the figure at the center of the vortex, is the epitome of this phenomenon. Before ten thousand people, she possesses the supreme glory—the crown, while experiencing the most obvious pain—the torment of sickness; and in an unknown hidden corner, she experiences the pleasure of sexual desire, but is not blessed Enjoy intimate love. She asked for it, pushed it away, held her own power, and was unable to catch it. In fact, for her, the bamboo horse or the sky, the seemingly different choices are actually the same. Being controlled and suppressed but enjoying the sincere attachment in the soul, or being submissive and praised but knowing that everything is a lie, which is the queen's favorite?

Too bad, I wasted 2 hours, the plot is inexplicable, the soundtrack seems to be smashed on the head with a hammer, all the actors except Coleman have no bright spots, shoddy production, and the wide-angle lens is dizzy.

09/03/2018, Telluride. Human's longings, weakness, and blindness are universally alike throughout the ages. Highly stylized and hilariously deadpan. Exquisite visual language and impeccable soundtrack. The titles of each part of the film are also interesting. Emma Stone's sinister little bitch was good, but overshadowed by the other actors. Rachel Weisz is so beautiful and charming. Nicholas Hoult is cute and flamboyant. A couple of long shots of Olivia Coleman's face are nice, her heartbreak and confusion are moving. When watching the movie, I hope that the movie will not end and can continue to watch. However, their palace fights are too childish. :D

The Favourite quotes

  • Abigail: Perhaps because of my past, perhaps some malformation of my heart. I blame my father, of course. *Cunt*. I must take control of my circumstance. I will need to act in a way that meets the edges of my morality. Or, I will end up on the street selling my arsehole to syphilitic soldiers, steadfast morality will be a fucking nonsense that will mock me daily.

  • Queen Anne: We should ask people. Get some people in from the villages and ask them.

Lady Sarah: That is not how matters of state are dealt with. People are led, they do not lead.
