"Blockbusters" seeking rent from classic themes

I am a huge fan of Greek mythology, so I went crazy today and went to Pacific Place to watch the morning worship of the gods and the legendary era.

Looking at the feeling, that's it. Don't have high expectations. A typical blockbuster, see the effect everyone... However, this film can be seen as an epic film, and the effect is still very good, there is a kind of confusion of "the glory of Greece, the greatness of Rome". As for the mode, it is similar to "Transformers", happy-ending, heroes and vases, ghosts and snakes, magical adventure, Lord of the Rings plus Might and Magic (Medusa's shape is exactly the same) plus the feeling of Saint Seiya.

I came back and reviewed the relevant Greek mythology and found that it has been tampered with a lot. However, let's talk about movies here.

The translation of the mainland name is really good, "Battle of the Gods". Hong Kong translated it into "The Battle of Man, God and Devil", which is very boring and has no connotation of Greek mythology at all. Is there a devil? Hades is also a goddess. The "demon world" probably refers to the underworld. Is it the door to the underworld that says that when you get here, you will give up all hope? no. The film is actually a spiral abyss. I seriously doubt that the director did not correctly comprehend the central idea and the atmosphere of Greek mythology, but treated it as a simple magic film. But anyway, it is estimated that people here will not be fascinated by the gods, just look at the effect.

In fact, the plot is a bit scary, especially at the last joint, I was still nervous about how a small person could deal with such a behemoth, and the solution after that was really amazing, everyone, it was wonderful. It was mentioned in the previous film that Medusa's head was used to "fight poison with poison", but it was a bit scary, timing, action, momentum, wow. I forgot what the original plot was in the myth. Here, our protagonist stepped on the ladder at the moment when the big mouth of the sea monster opened towards the princess, and showed the grim and glamorous head to the sea monster with lightning speed. 唰——The monster that just surfaced, with big eyes and small eyes, before he even took a breath, he was obediently, gorgeously, oh no no no no petrified.

I thought there was going to be a gorgeous battle, not even the first gang fight against the Scorpions in the dunes. Pity that giant beast that calls the wind and calls the rain in the angry sea~ Ow~ No wonder people often say that in the eyes of a typhoon, it is actually the safest. This shot reminds me of the spike in "Transformers", which is too boring. Still, better than the lengthy fights of Batman.

Then it's over! ... In contrast, the story of Master Cheda has clearly surpassed the myth itself, and I admit that I was too deeply corroded by the goddess and the fighters under the goddess' skirts and their fanfic series. Hades's deep, lake-like pupils and handsome face were replaced by a wrinkled uncle who looked like Voldemort, and it was a bit depressing. As for how to fight Hades, the beautiful disillusionment in Saint Seiya, and then the eclipse lifted, and the earth was reborn. where? ! Poor mighty Hades was beaten into a home run and returned to his underworld.

Westerners take up the myth of their own civilization and occupy the high ground of discourse hegemony, but their handling is not completely amazing. Of course, the cultural myth itself is still so fascinating.

The most incomprehensible thing is that the gods have all put on clothes...and it's still...golden garments...is it necessary? Plagiarizing "Saint Seiya"?! = = Maybe it is a concern with a film review, but why wear the absolutely airtight Saint Seiya series of golden clothes? Anyone with a little knowledge of history and culture should know that in those days, it was only when you wore clothes that you were deformed. However, I understand that it is impossible for the film to restore the people of the past era without any artistic sublimation; however, even the ordinary Greek warriors' steel-breasted iron dresses, or the emperor's noble white robes, etc. Olympian-style attire is fine, what's with the holy clothes... and also, aren't Greco-Roman epics popular recently? Look at the Spartacus with the fewest, most yellow and most violent pieces in history, blood in a bucket, and thousands of abdominal muscles at every turn. From the perspective of "practical", since it is a blockbuster, if you want to play gimmicks, you can do more.

The most important thing is, in Fei Leng Cui's imagination, how classic the vigorous bodies of those gods, humans, demigods and demigods are; such a plan to win the rights and interests of the true inheritance of the river crab can not help but say that it is a big failure. I don't mean to blaspheme, but can you see the imposing and powerful gods wearing iron shells, as dull as the mosaic murals of the dark age? Why go against the trend of history and dress the gods in clothes? Some people may say come on, it's just a magic movie. Sorry, I can't, I always treat it as a historical myth. I think restoring toned Olympia can give this film enough sense of history, authenticity and beauty.

Scorpions in the dunes (Scorpio? :p), Pegasus, life and death, warriors, beauty, good and evil, beauty and ugliness, all kinds of gods, the curse of Hades, the thunder and lightning of Zeus. There are all the things that should be there, and there, guess who it is (by coincidence, thanks to Masami Chata~~~). The familiar and indifferent ones are all clicked, but 3D is no longer the most powerful gimmick.

Looking at it with love and admiration for the Age of Mythology (which is inevitably too demanding), I feel that this film is too artificial and magical, too straightforward, and lacks a classic feeling. I sighed, and my memory was still stuck in the long love-hate relationship of the Saint Seiya. The suppose was original, but it was reserved.

Some people say that the gods in Greek mythology are mostly shaped by the prototype of slave owners. Therefore, the unique tyranny, darkness, and all the fragility of human nature, read more a little helpless and sad than other theological themes, but also more real. Sister Ai He said lightly, Medusa with a head full of snakes, no matter how ferocious she is now, in the past, she had also conquered the country and the city.

——The next paragraph is very sad (although it is quite different from the original myth), you will know what I am talking about when you read it. As for Greek mythology itself, there are many different poignant legends.

As for jokes and philosophy, there are still some. Balance is good. The dialogue is simple, but has a simple beauty and punch.

The plot of the film is still quite interesting, sometimes thunderous and forgetful in a blink of an eye. It can't be said that it is not exciting, but it does not have the terrifying and tense feeling of "Angels and Demons". The loneliness of a warrior for a hundred years is mainly reflected by plotting. For example, the back-up warriors and the elves of the desert are all broken, leaving him alone to go to the final battle. But the inner characterization is not enough.

...As an aside, I really like that calm and loyal "carbon block" elf dressed like a Moor!

As for logic, if it is strictly scrutinized, it will cause you to laugh while watching, so I avoid this. Let's go through the process, don't be boring.

For example, after passing through Wangchuan, everyone still remembers to perform their respective duties, which is a miracle in itself. For example, according to the arrangement of the film, Sister Yu and Xiao Po are more and more ambiguous and dependent. In the end, Zeus resurrected Yujie, and Yujie and Zhengtai lived happily together (although no relationship was specified). But don't forget, in the film, Zhengtai was watched and grown up by Sister Yu. So, if it is spliced together with stereotyped thinking, this film makes me feel awkward again, like the Aegean female version of Genji's plan (one of the characteristics of Greek mythology?)

A little flower embellished at the end: One of the cores of Western civilization One is that a bunch of men are willing to fight for a woman, too few Troy in ten years, and they dare to wrestle with God...

======================= ========

In fact, if I were the director, also based on Greek mythology, I would choose to make a "Medusa". I just remember that sentence, no matter how ferocious and terrifying her appearance was, she once conquered the country.
