very credible

I was almost blinded by the poster, I thought it was a movie with no brains.

So I said I didn't pay to go to the cinema for anything, even though it was the only movie showing in our small town cinema that I was even slightly interested in.

After watching it...it's really touching.

The plot is classic but not unconventional. I have to say that the two leading actors are really charming, and the performance is full of heart. When Jake Gyllenhaal twitches and tells Anne Hathaway that he loves her and that it's the first time he's ever said that to someone, it's totally convincing. When Anne Hathaway, who was young but suffering from Parkinson's disease, looked at him tearfully and yelled at him to leave her, my heart was broken...

Some extravagant plots are a bit exaggerated, for example, Jamie ate something that he sold himself. The reaction after the drug...
Some characters are a bit facial, such as Jamie's younger brother, his competitors... But there are always these exaggerated expressions and details in Hollywood movies, which are the seasoning for the American dream.

There are many small imperfections, but the main storyline is well mastered. Jake and Anne, who are both talented and beautiful, perform energetically without excessive force, which is really eye-catching.

Audiences who are too conservative can take a detour... Most of the good-looking Europeans and Americans are indeed looking for the one who matches them among all living beings in this red fruit and fruit way. Feelings are another story. The selected person is not the most perfect and suitable one according to various rational indicators, but this does not mean that the feelings obtained in this way are not reliable. Food color also.

It is indeed an interesting idea to arrange that one of the protagonists suffers from Parkinson's disease, which is irreversible and has a large negative impact on life but does not affect life expectancy, rather than some terminal illness. In this way, Jamie's choice means that he is willing to take more responsibility for love.

It is believed that Jamie will take care of Maggie for the rest of her life, even as her symptoms worsen. They are physically and emotionally dependent on each other. Choosing to come together is a personality challenge, whether it is for the drug salesman who was greedy at the time, or for the Parkinson's girl who can only live in the moment.

Finally, I posted this simple dialogue that touched me (it's not so touching if it's not in the show):

"-You need someone to take care of you..
-No, I don't.. .
-Everybody does.
-I will need you more than you need me, it's not fair... I can't ask you to do that...
-You didn't... I don't want to be like those perfect people. I want us...I want you.”

"I need you more than you need me, it's not fair", the movie still has a cheesy plot routine.

What you need to find is someone who can calmly accept "you need him more than he needs you"; someone who can look into your eyes and say "I need you, just as you need me." Compared to many superficial Hollywood light comedies, this drama is actually more straightforward and more watchable; Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal are really the best screen couples in the new era, giving them one extra star.

Love & Other Drugs quotes

  • Maggie Murdock: You are not a good person because you pity fucked a sick girl.

  • Jamie Randall: Let's just say in some alternate universe, there's a couple just like us, okay? Only she's healthy and he's perfect. And their world is about how much they're going to spend on vacation or who's in a bad mood that day, or whether they feel guilty about having a cleaning lady. I don't want to be those people. I want us. You. This.
