Helen, the mother who is dying of losing her son, has doubts about this. In order to find the truth, she hires private detective Louis (Adrien Brody) to conduct a comprehensive investigation. According to clues, Lewis discovers that George had an affair with Toni, the wife of MGM Studios executive Eddie Mannix (Bob Hopkins), and this may well be the key to his death.
However, in the sensual land of Hollywood, seeking truth and justice is tantamount to setting yourself on fire. As the investigation deepens, Louis faces more and more dangers and threats, and while unraveling the mystery of George's death, he also finds himself inevitably inextricably linked to the case.
