It's a good story, but it's too bad the ending

The ending falls on "the choice you make yourself bear it", which obviously deviates from the idea, "is the judicial system wrong, and whether illegal justice is reasonable", which weakens the power of this film. I originally guessed that Clyde had induced Nick to kill himself and save his colleague's life, but at the same time his behavior was exactly what Clyde advocated, which proved Clyde was right. The victorious Nick betrayed his original belief, and the film ended in his confusion. I think it will be closer to the theme. In the existing ending, Nick cleverly let Clyde take care of himself.

Nick Rice: I'm keeping my head and you will end this.
Clyde Shelton: This is going to be Von Clausewitz shit: total fucking war.
