Rewatch "Subway"

When I was doing housework a few days ago, I transferred to the movie station by the way and watched the movie again. Chinese dubbing, not too bad.
The record I wrote when I watched the disc was, "Looking at the progressive acting skills of the two actors, why are the other characters so careful?" A few years have passed, and the surrounding environment has become worse and worse, from the air to the human heart, so that every day Sending a child out is like an adventurous journey, because disasters will come unexpectedly at no time and place. Maybe it was too many negative news such as natural and man-made disasters that affected my state, or maybe it was the pessimism and depression that I managed to get rid of a little bit was activated again.
The underground transportation tracks in Beijing are getting bigger and bigger. For people who don't own a car, subway travel is the first choice. But somehow, the tense scene in the subway where my life was hanging by a thread, I was suddenly worried that it would be staged in the real world, by my side. Because the motives and methods of taking hostages, and the various interests involved in the confrontation between the police and the bandits seem to exist in our real life. I mean, these potential triggers are not imaginary in the movie.
While wrapping dumplings, I pondered these insignificant problems, and suddenly realized that after having a child, I even changed the way and angle of looking at problems and thinking about problems. At the beginning, watching the movie was purely for "watching the movie". Now, no matter what news comes, the first thing that comes to mind is whether it will affect the children and family members. And, worst of all, most of the news is often not good news, from the material aspects of food, clothing, housing and transportation to the spiritual aspects of moral beliefs, all show worrying colors and are closely related to each of us.
John Travolta is a very good actor. He has played several villains, all of which are impressive, because they are not face-saving and can show the inner world of the character, not to let the audience ignore the evil of the character. , but to let the audience understand the source of the character's evil. Just like the news reports around us, once you get a little deeper into the inextricable connections behind the events, it is often shocking. The scary place is here. There is no love for no reason, and there is no hate for no reason. It seems that each of us may be the one who detonated the fuse.
From a technical point of view, Hollywood crime films have tended to be perfect, with ups and downs, sound, special effects, editing, etc., all of which show a high level of professionalism. If it is just "watching a movie", it is naturally the best choice. But the question is, the interlocking narrative logic and realistic details inevitably make people faintly uneasy. Does art come from life and is higher than life, or is real life inherently lower than art? In other words, does such a complete reproduction of the beginning and end of a crime just become the possibility of inducing a new crime in reality?
At the end of the film, the sentence "You are my hero" before the robber was shot and fell to the ground, I felt very embarrassed. I don't understand criminal psychology, and I certainly can't explain the ultimate purpose of the robber's crime, but ending the whole incident with one person (the subway dispatcher) is obviously still the usual personal heroism complex in Hollywood movies. Who is the hero? Why do I feel that most of the people in the film are like accomplices to the robbers, even us spectators?
No, don't bother anymore. It's just a movie. When my child can't choose films by herself, I would rather play "Little Tadpoles Looking for Mother" for her every day. Of course, I also pray that such a frightening incident will never happen in the subway that I take every day to travel.

Travolta's acting skills are absolutely "first-rate", but... things are really ok...

The Taking of Pelham 123 quotes

  • Ryder: You know we all owe God a debt... and I'm a man who pays his debts. Are you a man who pays his debts?

Walter Garber: Yeah, yeah, sure... TV, cable, uh and my mortgage. That's a little like dying once a month.

Ryder: Oh, you're married... you're a married man?

    Walter Garber: Maybe.

Ryder: Oh, no... you're married, man. Married men have mortgages.

  • Walter Garber: Well, I can tell you that you are dealing with one of the old-time bureaucracy, I know that. I mean, it takes time.

Ryder: Well you'd better fix the bureaucracy. Because when the time comes, these motherfuckers, these out there, are gonna go real quick.
