Can't accept such a Nixon!

Looking through the available information, as well as through the description of "Glory and Dreams", Nixon was a politician who was proficient in politics and strong in his skills. In the end, he was wise and was mistaken by wisdom. The film portrays Nixon as a character who lives in the shadow of his mother's expectations, fears of failure, and JFK after becoming president. In the film, every time Nixon faces the camera, he is always sweating profusely (suggesting that he left a psychological shadow after his defeat in the TV debate with JFK), it is the details that shape his negativity, and even disdain to show his strong side.

This is another example of Freud's "everyone's psychological shadow comes from childhood misfortune" that infinitely magnifies. The point is, Nixon lost the election in 1962 and resigned due to the "Watergate Incident" in 1973. He almost experienced two ultra-troughs that other US presidents could not encounter. In the end, the first time he was reborn as president, the second time he passed the constant Social activism is back as a veteran of American politics. No one in the world who is psychologically dependent on his parents and has a psychological shadow on his competitors can have such a strong heart. On the contrary, it is the kind of people who have no scruples, mean methods, and ignore beliefs, such as Richard Nixon, such as Steve Jobs.

Richard Nixon is considered a morally questionable U.S. president, but politically, his transcript is unmistakably illustrious. Bill Clinton also had moral issues, but he has been famous since retirement because of his domestic economic achievements. Nixon did not enjoy this kind of treatment because his achievements were concentrated in the field of foreign affairs (communication), which is precisely the topic that Americans paid the least attention to. But for a world just emerging from the brink of World War III (the Cuban nuclear crisis), his achievements undoubtedly benefited the world. During Deng Xiaoping's visit to the United States, the Carter administration did not include Nixon on the guest list, but Deng Xiaoping insisted and claimed that if Nixon did not come, he would go to California to visit in person. This undoubtedly shows his weight, even if he is a morally questionable politician.

212 minutes director's cut version, eyes with gold stars = =. Stone still uses a variety of editing techniques, and seems to want to replicate the success of JFK (even the music on 11/22/63 is... XD. I saw Bobby's image in "Face of November", sigh) , but the interjection is not very effective, plus a large number of white old men who are similar to each other, I feel very tired, and my eyes are almost blinded. The most unacceptable thing is this completely miscast casting. I really can't believe that Hopkins, who doesn't even match his racial characteristics, is Nixon. One star is deducted.

On the whole, the filming is a bit lengthy, the editing is messy, and it is not as shocking as JFK. Obviously Nixon's experience as president is more legendary, but people will always remember JFK, maybe this is the so-called establishment. Now just sit back and wait for Trump to die and Oliver Stone to come back to make a trilogy that makes up the "Unfinished U.S. Presidential Trilogy"...

Richard M. Nixon: Who? Not another damn Cuban?

    H. R. Haldeman: No sir. A guy named Hunt. Howard Hunt, sir.

Richard M. Nixon: [Fear creeping on his face] Hunt? Howard Hunt?

  • John Ehrlichman: We created Frankenstein with these damn Cubans.
