Madagascar 3: Pairing chili peppers with black tea

It is true that I have forgotten the plots of "Ma 1" and "Ma 2". I discussed it with my colleagues for a long time before going to the cinema. It seems that no one can accurately recall the general picture of the first two films. Maybe it's because of my bad memory, or maybe it's because of our colleagues' memory, but all I know is that this kind of thing will never appear in really top animations like "Robot Story" and "Spirited Away" on-chip.

The only thing I can remember is that the four omnipotent penguins in this series have the same judgment, planning and execution skills as special agents. The Penguin of Madagascar is to the "Madagascar" series, just like the squirrel that likes pine cones is to "Ice Age", it is a typical work in which the supporting role is better than the protagonist, and the protagonist is reduced to a trooper. It's just that in "Horse 3", although the performance of the four penguins is still wonderful, it has shown a declining trend, because the audience is already familiar with this routine. As the saying goes, it is good to do it in one go, and then decline, and three to exhaustion. Another thing is, the same tricks are useless against Saint Seiya. This is true of the fictional Saint Seiya, not to mention that we are real?

Compared with the past, the plot of "Horse 3" is a bit fragmented compared to other excellent works. Under a not very good motivation, the four main characters want to return to New York, so they start this adventure. The adventure mainly comes from two aspects: the first is the pursuit of a taxidermist and a powerful female police officer, and the second is from a circus that has lost its purpose and power. They have to use the circus to go to New York at the same time. , by the way to help the circus solve some psychological problems. Those are two very different threads, and two very different tastes. If the former looks so intense and refreshing, as if the taste of the top chili pepper, then the latter is somewhat sensational, melancholy, and involves the spiritual growth of afternoon black tea, giving people a warm feeling.

However, "Horse 3" puts these two flavors together. Maybe you will feel that the new flavor is very unique and durable, but my feeling is that the new flavor is very strange, none of them is pure, everyone wants to highlight themselves, and in the end it becomes a hodgepodge.

If it is said that the female police officer must kill all the animals, just out of her hobby of collecting specimens, then this setting is a little shallow. Why does she have such a hobby? Is it because she was injured by animals when she was a child, so she took revenge in disguise by collecting specimens? If she can dig to this level, it may touch on deeper human issues. In this way she is no longer a symbol of pure evil in the film, but a person with deep motives, a more three-dimensional person. The existence of such a deep motivation will also provide a way for the protagonist to resolve the conflict with the female police officer through his own efforts and actions. In other words, if a person who wants to cut off a lion's head is not as useless as a chicken in the end by the animals, but he completely discovers his conscience, is influenced by the animals, and untangles the button on his chest for decades, and the animal We got back together, wouldn't that be a better ending?

Only in this way can the backside of the chili also reflect the warm black tea side, so that the confrontation theme of the female police officer and the growth theme of the circus can complement each other and promote each other.

Now, let's talk about the clues of the circus. From trusting without knowing it, to feeling hurt after knowing it, to regaining trust in each other; from deceiving each other for one's own purposes, to the exposure of this deception, and to being abandoned at the same time. The condemnation of conscience, and then the two sides find a common point of convergence to unite and cooperate to solve the problem; the psychological growth route that often appears in American animation blockbusters has been re-interpreted again. All the key nodes and the lines and heavyweight speeches at the key nodes are like going through the motions, completely but without any novelty, telling this usual pattern again.

For the circus members, regaining their original confidence did not even experience a single failure; for the protagonists, when they helped the circus regain their confidence, they did not have any spiritual gains worth writing about. This may be due to the fact that the circus is only a branch of clues, it is parallel to the clues of the female police officer, and the film will ultimately use the female police officer as the ultimate BOSS, so there is no time to describe the circus too deeply.

The more exciting part of the film is an animated description of a high-tech circus. It is rich in imagination and has a strong flavor of animation. It is a bit like the description of a psychedelic animation in the classic Disney movie "Dumbo". This is perhaps one of the few moments in the film that feels original.

Judging from the general quality and level of the film, it is almost a foregone conclusion.

The structure of the story is actually very simple, in line with the routine in hero stories: heroes are always the most talented, powerful and predictable. The reform of local dialect dubbing has indeed become the highlight of this film. It is an inspirational film for all ages!
