The wonderfulness of Water Shape Story

The best director of the Golden Globe Awards is really well-deserved. Although I can only understand after watching many places, it is really a good movie!

The love between people and different species is unconventional and distressing. It is not so much that the love between a dumb girl and a different kind is love, it is better to say that they are the collision of two lonely hearts, and sparks are everywhere, but it is beautiful and miserable! It's so embarrassing!

Among the few foreign films I have watched, this one can be regarded as a very good one!

Inhumane I am still back. Recently, I'm a little annoyed by the movie about the group of disadvantaged groups, black people, disabled people, sexual minorities, close humans...all the settings are so clear, gays are discriminated against and turn around to save the more tragic big fish. Well, human beings are ugly, got it.

In the elgin theatre where the movie was filmed, it's beautiful to add half a star, but this central romance didn't touch me at all. Michael Shannon's gaston is also boring from beginning to end. This year's lalaland can already see the shape of backlash.

The Shape of Water quotes

  • Giles: Oh! God, to be young and beautiful. If I could go back

    [Elisa nods]

Giles: to when I was 18 - I didn't know anything about anything - I'd give myself a bit of advice.

Elisa: [in sign language] What would you say?

Giles: I would say: Take better care of your teeth and fuck a lot more.

[Elisa smiles and gently nudges him]

Giles: Oh no, no, that's very good advice.

  • [last lines]

Giles: If I told you about her, what would I say? That they lived happily ever after? I believe they did. That they were in love? That they remained in love? I'm sure that's true. But when I think of her - of Elisa - the only thing that comes to mind is a poem, whispered by someone in love, hundreds of years ago: "Unable to perceive the shape of You, I find You all around me. Your presence fills my eyes with Your love, It humbles my heart, For You are everywhere."
